    What are the ethical challenges that Uber faces in using app-based peer-to-sharing
    technology?
    These are the ethical challenges that Uber faces in:

    Uber Company are using app-based technology on getting customers the first ethical
    challenges they face in is that taxi drivers are filing lawsuits against them as they would become
    more accessible to everybody because people nowadays are using mobile phones but they have
    similar purpose on the job and that is to safely deliver their customers to their drop-off
    destination because of that taxi drivers are complaining why aren’t uber drivers aren’t
    undergoing the same requirements they do.

    Uber drivers especially the one who is making it their primary job were unhappy because
    they were categorized as an independent contractor because Uber was designed for people that
    are freelancers who are self-employed in which they can have a time management for
    themselves. And as an independent contractor it puts a lot burden on the side of the driver as they
    use their own resources to qualify as an Uber driver.

    There are some safety and privacy issues that are happening in Uber as they have
    received report that there was an alleged rape in India caused by an Uber driver as we all know
    using an app-based technology the drivers can view some of your information before you can
    meet with them such as your profile photo and your name. But there are also some harassments
    coming from their female employees claiming they were harassed on their job and for that we
    know that harassment is working in both ways. That is why Uber was questioned by
    governments on how they accept their driver.

    Even that their app can help them informed that their customer are people with
    disabilities, Uber was criticized as they are not user-friendly to everybody especially with people
    with disabilities because Uber drivers use their own vehicles which many of them are not wheel-
    chair friendly.

    To sum it all up, Uber’s ethical challenges in using app-based peer-to-sharing technology
    is that they are unfair to taxi drivers as they are not getting the same requirements, but they
    operate taxi-like services. Uber drivers are unhappy as they considered as an independent
    contractor not as an employee. There are some safety and privacy issues about how they assess
    their drivers to be qualified as an Uber driver because of harassment going on in both ways, and
    Uber drivers was not user-friendly to everybody especially with people with disabilities.
