Overview

 Assessment of “Demand” and “Support” factors within Selected group of 20 members of


leading Pharmaceuticals Company of Bangladesh.

 The corporate Head Quarter is situated in Dhanmondi Residential Area and factory is
located in Tongi which manufactures ORAL SOLID and Liquid Drugs, Injectable,
Ophthalmic products and Biotech products.

 Only 2nd company to have US FDA approval in Bangladesh

 There are 400 + employees Corporate Head Quarter and 2500+ employees in factory

 Male female ratio 70:30 (in percentile)

c. Hierarchical Difference: Officer (Entry Level), Sr. Officer (Entry level), Asst Manager
(Mid Level), Manager (Mid Level) and above Manager (Top level)

Stress level variation between Male and Female

Support factor
Male has mean average of 3.451 and Female has a mean 3.4201. This shows stress level is
very close to Male and female

Demand factor

Male has mean average of 3.48 and Female has average mean of 3.73. It shows higher stress on Male in
surveyed organization which may be due to flexibility.

Stress Level variation in terms of Marital Status

Support factor

Married has mean average of 3.42 and Single has a mean average of 3.46. Stress levels are almost
same for two groups.

Demand factor

Married has mean average of 3.552 and single has mean of mean average 3.557. Hence both categories
are in same level of stress.

Highest stress creating Support Factor

Females are experiencing maximum stress in absence of necessary support to manage work stress
(mean score: 2.5)

Highest stress creating Demand Factor

Mid level Managements are experiencing maximum stress due to lack of opportunities to be involved in
decision making (mean score: 2.75)

Conclusion
Stress level does vary within different levels of management and my employer is not an exception of this.
On broad line, there no stress differences due to Gender or Martial status which is a good sign for any
dynamic organization. Some tools to be injected from management to manage work stress beside
creating sufficient opportunities to all levels of management for decision making.
