Quidway AR 18-1X Series Routers Chapter 1 Product Overview
1.1 Introduction
Quidway AR 18-1X Series Routers (hereinafter referred to as the
AR 18-1X series) are designed for small office home office (SOHO)
subscribers. The AR 18-1X series provide many types of WAN
interfaces, including multi-protocol synchronous/asynchronous
(sync/async) serial interface, auxiliary interface, ISDN BRI S/T and U
interfaces, CT1/PRI interface, and E1-F interface. You can thus
construct a network using any WAN technology combination of
PSTN/ISDN, frame relay (FR), X.25, digital data network (DDN), T1
and E1 lines.
In the AR 18X series, the AR 18-13V and the AR 18-18V support
VoIP in addition to multiple types of WAN interfaces. They allow voice
and data to be transmitted together, thus allowing LAN users to place
IP phone calls when they are accessing the Internet.
The AR 18-1X series includes these models: AR 18-10, AR 18-12,
AR 18-13, AR 18-15, AR 18-16, AR 18-18, AR 18-13V, AR 18-18V.
