WEEK 3 COURSE TASK: Case of Acute Myocardial Infarction

Develop a 24-hour meal plan appropriate for the client described below:

Juan Dela Cruz, a 46-year-old taho vendor, stands 5'4" tall and weighs 100 ibs., is to be discharged from
FUMC due to acute MI. The patient is aware of being hypertensive and is a smoker since his early
adulthood. He was admitted due to, without any prior symptom, severe persistent chest pain after
about 24 hours. He stated he does not want this to happen again as he is the breadwinner of a family of
6.

1. BMI OF THE PATIENT: 17.2 (underweight)


BMI is a measurement of a person's leanness or corpulence based on their height and weight,
and is intended to quantify tissue mass.
HEIGHT – 5’4
WEIGHT – 100lbs.

2. 24-HR MEAL PLAN

BREAKFAST  Non-fat milk (1 cup)


 Whole wheat pandesal (1 or 2 pcs)
 Margarine (1/2 tsp.)
 Orange (1)
LUNCH  Bittermelon with pork (3oz)
 Pinakbet (1 bowl) (8oz)
 Rice (1 bowl 8oz)
 Cantaloupe 1/4
EVENING MEAL  Tilapia or Bangus (3 oz)
 Adobong kangkong (1 bowl) ( 8 oz)
 Rice (1 bowl)
 Banana (1/2)
