1.

In the past year prior to the declaration of independence the colonies had been in a
revolt against England. In the summer of 1776 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the
Second Continental Congress, there were representatives from all 13 colonies. They
came to realization that reconciliation with England is not going to happen.
2. The people who wrote the declaration of independence were Thomas Jefferson,
Benjamin Franklin, John Adams. The ideas were based on declaring independence
from England.
3. They waited 15-months to adopt the declaration because they presented to the
Continental Congress, and there were few minor debates made. Finally, it was
unanimously passed. The reason why July 4th was marked as our Independence Day
is because all the wording was finally approved and were sent off to the printers.
4. The first components that makes up the declaration of independence is the
introduction, it explains why the colonist have the right to a revolution, and or to
declare them to separate. The second components that makes up the declaration of
independence is the preamble; it explains to us what is expected of a government.
The third components that makes up the declaration of independence is the
indictment; it is a long list of reasons of what England is doing that is wrong. The
fourth components that makes up the declaration of independence is the conclusion,
it explains that they are declaring independence, and they also use the term United
States of America.
5. According to Jefferson, the people have the right to create a government. The
purpose of the government is to protect the basic human rights of its people. If
the government fails to fulfill its purpose, the government should be changed.
6. Jefferson says that “all men are created equal”, and he means that all white
landowners have worth, and should have more opportunity. Jefferson also says that,
"that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights", and he
means that they are endowed by their creator with unalienable rights, and they are
individuals with the pursuit of happiness.
7. The delegates of the Second Continental Congress were the 56 people who signed
the declaration of independence. The 56 delegators risked being hanged for
treason.
8. The Declaration of independence provided colonists an opportunity to ask British
enemies, and or bring the colonies together for military assistance. I think all 13
colonies, France, and The Spanish would be asked because they can provide supplies
that the colonies or the other country have.
