INTRODUCTION;

My essay will be on the text regarding the Declaration of Independence and for what it stood for.
We always refer back to this piece of history and even Martin Luther King Jr. speech I Have a
Dream has reference to the Declaration of Independence because of how important its roll and
overall body was to our history today.

The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson; however the committee all
included Benjamin Franklin, Robert Livingston, Roger Sherman, and John Adams. This
Declaration was submitted and drafted and was officially created on July 4th 1776.
The Declaration of Independence was written due to laws being passed in the 1700s that limited
freedom to American colonies. This resulted in the first Continental Congress! A list was sent to
the king but the king rudely ignored the complaint. They, as in Thomas Jefferson and the
committee reattempted with the complaints but were not met with a reply. Thus they made up the
Declaration of Independence to declare their rights, and quite bluntly, declare war!
The Declaration of Independence was written to the world, as well as King George 111 . The
audience was meant for everyone and for King George to look like a fool.

Summary of the Text;

The larger conversation the Declaration of Independence holds is regarding

human liberty and equality to all. As well as make people realize the actions of King
George. Thus, as you can imagine, The Declaration of Independence is an important
artifact in history and is still recalled today in more recent texts such as the Bill of Rights
and the Constitution. I could honestly state that the document is perhaps one of the most
important documents ever written for the United States of America. Each section of the
Declaration of Independence is important, the introduction, the Preamble, the Indictment,
which was in reference to King George III, the denunciation, and lastly, the conclusion.
The introduction regards to what we already know of Laws of Nature. This means that the people
are entitled to their Independence and thus, should be free to live in their own lands. It also
acknowledges that the Declaration of Independence must be reasonable. Thus, it should be
thoroughly explained so that it is on true terms.
This takes us to the next section, The Preamble. This section we know quite well as it is
stating the most famous line that everyone should be able to repeat. we hold these truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal. Basically it states that there are violations in their
Independence. The 3 basic rights of the people are liberty, freedom (rights to life) and the pursuit
of happiness. The Declarations says that these rights are rules, and if the government fails them,
they should be able to defend it themselves and overrule any form of government. Such is the
will of God.

The third section, The Indictment of King George the third, is the complaint of the
brutality the American colonies have suffered by him. They state he should not be holding such
high power and go to make the King look like a fool, within his own people as well as the
American Colonies. I myself, have questions the third section to it having any reference to King
George being the III king. This was one of the longest portions in the Declaration of
Independence as it held 27 specific actions against the American colonies all in reference to King
George III being held accountable.
The Denunciation is their resolution, its attempting to close the matter and in hopes of
the colonies being separated from England in hopes of peace. However they also held a good
support of written testament of their failed attempt to make it work with England before they felt
the need to separate from them. They include the emotional response of how England was like
their brother, and have been unsuccessful at gaining their love.

Lastly, the Conclusion states: these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free
and Independent States; that they are absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown. This is
their final plea and they end up successful. Of course, I was not able to put in everything that the
Declaration of Independence offers but this is a full summary of what it holds.

Thesis;
The Declaration of Independence was written in calligraphy not what we use today, the
style is old worldly and out of date, however it continues to hold the same meaning we utilize
today. The most important word in the Declaration of Independence would have to be the word
necessary, the reason behind this is because in the 18th century this word held strong
determination. To say it was necessary for an action to take place, or necessary for something to
be done impelled fate, or determined it was natures law. And thus, this was beyond the control
of the meek human being. Thomas Jefferson knew this and used the word frequently in his
Declaration.

Conclusion;
The Declaration of Independence uses everything to its benefits, its holds emotional
empathy for the American colonies, and points their fingers holding proof of the brutality they
have suffered, along with evidence of what they are not requesting, but demanding because it is
their right, and they have been wronged. It gives us Ethics on why they have been wronged and
logic of why its necessary for change, and that they have already attempted all other paths
before this. I believe anyone with skills and the right mindset can continue to create something
this important in this century and come out successful, if they hold the correct words and know
their audience to the utmost degree.
