Walmart Packaging Guidelines of All Seasons
Walmart is big buyer of Bangladesh for garments sector. They have lots of products which they
are shipped to the different countries from Bangladesh in every season. I have been working in
2 apparel brands of Walmart these are Athletic Works and George. In this article I have try to
provide some information about Walmart packaging guidelines or manual of all season.
Brand Name:
A name of style starts with three letters where first two letters express the brand name, that is
AW for Athletic Works and GR for George. And the last one is used for the season. For
example; AWS means it is a spring season product of Athletic Works brand.
Season Code:
There are four season of Walmart. To identify the packed garments seasons Walmart referred to
use the individual season tag or sticker with garments and also mentioned the season code on
hangtag and notify the season on that cartons shipping marks, which help to send the goods to
market before that season.
Season code is a numerical number by which we can know the suitable seasons to be wear of that
products. Each season have different code and color identification tag or sticker which is tagging
or attaching with garments before packing. Some goods are shipped without season which is
known as ‘year’ season and the code is “000”.

We know there are four season in Walmart calendar, these are Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter.
And every season consists of three months.Walmart season codes expresses by the number of
three-digits these are 106, 209, 312 and 403.
Spring-106, Summer- 209, Fall- 312, Winter- 403.
The first season consists of April, May and June. The number of last month of that season used
as a code of 1st season that is 106. The first digit expresses the season number e.g. 1,2,3 and 4
and others are express the month e.g. 06,09, 12 and 03.
For example- 106 (Spring), where ‘1’ is first season which is spring and ‘06’ is month (April,
May and June),another example is 403 (Winter), where the 4 is the number of season which is
the last season and 03 is the number of last month (January, February and March) of that season.
At the same way others season code express the same meaning as per different season.

Relation Between Style and Season:

There are two brand we work of Walmart; these are Athletic Works & George. Where name of
style starts with three letters, first two letters express the brand name such as AW=Athletic
Works & GR=George and the third one express the season. The relation between style and
season sated below.

Walmart Department:
Department is the product category, which is express by some numerical number e.g. 0024,
0026, 0023 etc. This number is mentioned on hangtag which is tagging with product. The
department of products depend on gender or age of wearer. Walmart have many departments.
But we work for some departments those are mention below;
We could understand the department of products by the name of style. In the last of every style
department mentioned by one or two letters, such as IB- Infant Boys,LD- Ladies etc.

Shipping mark:
Shipping mark is the identification of packed garments which is written on the surface of the
carton such as; Assort or item no, P.O., Item description,Department, Destination and icon of
product etc. This shipping mark written by the specific layout and colors. The layout is always
same but colors of shipping mark depends on department and ratio.All individual department
maintain the won colors of shipping mark. All departments shipping mark color given below.

Master cartons: All Master shipping cartons are to be marked as shown in the illustrations on
all four sides of the box and the top and bottoms.
“Best before march” means sent this packed garments before the march month and customer
could be buy in march month. because this product is wearable in spring season.

Best Before Date: Best before date is written by based on that product season, which help to
store keeper send to the market before of that season of products.
Regular PO: This product will have stored after shipment and sent the market before that season
which is mentioned on carton. Carton shipping mark follow the individual shipping mark color
in case of assort packing.
Solid packing: Solid packing always written by black color without icon and no best before
date.
Ratio pack Solid pack

E-com PO: This product will have sold in online without storing. Carton shipping mark written
in black color and folded icon without best before date.

Conclusion:
A proper packaging process help to shipping the products smoothly. This also help the product
storing and marketing as well as represent to the customers
