The Gettysburg Children's Choir Choir and Chamber Chorale is an PROGRAM
auditioned community choir program for children in grades three through
twelve located at Gettysburg College. The CHILDREN’S CHOIR is for students This Old Hammer American Folk Song

Dr. Brent C. Talbot, is artistic director of the Gettysburg Children’s Choir and Gettysburg Children’s Choir
Chamber Chorale. In addition, he is coordinator of music education at the Dr. Brent C. Talbot, Artistic Director
Sunderman Conservatory of Music at Gettysburg College where he teaches Jamie Buxton, Pianist
various courses in music education, directs the gamelan (an Indonesian Miranda Bubenheim ’18, Gettysburg College Intern
instrumental ensemble) and supervises student teaching and research. Prior
to his appointments in Gettysburg, he served on the faculty at the University of Jezebel Abma Kellen Mikesell
Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Talbot has taught middle and high school Lily Arnold Seneca Mikesell
music in Rochester and Brooklyn, New York. He holds degrees in music Aurora Contreras Carmen Ray
education from the Eastman School of Music (Ph.D. & M.A.) and Indiana
Wesley Coolbaugh Conor Ruff-Miller
University (B.M.E.). In addition, he earned a diploma in ethnomusicology and
is certified in all three levels of Orff-Schulwerk. Dr. Talbot was the founding Faith Dickerson Liam Ruff-Miller
director of the Eastman Young Children’s Chorus and Director of the Eastman Brieanna Forman Savannah Schneider
New Horizons Choir. He is an active clinician at many county and district Hannah Green Bella Smith
honor choirs and has directed groups at the Interlochen Center for the Arts Sam Hale Tuff Smith
and the Chautauqua Institution. A frequent presenter at regional, national, and Brianna Hieber Theo Hunt
international conferences, his areas of expertise include: world and popular Abigail Jemison Sophia Thoma
music pedagogies, teaching movement, and examining power and social Gaven Jones Rylee Zeak
justice in music learning settings. Dr. Talbot is published in various state, Rhiannon Loudermilk Nathan Zhao
national, and international journals as well as in books on music education

and music therapy. He is an active member of American Choral Directors
Association and serves in leadership roles within the National Association
for Music Education, the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association and

Jamie Buxton is accompanist for the Gettysburg Children’s Choir and Chamber
Chorale. In addition, she is the current pianist for Penn State Mont Alto Chorale CHAMBER CHORALE
and has served as pianist for Gettysburg College Choir, Gettysburg College of the Gettysburg Children’s Choir
Women’s Choir, Belle Voix, and other groups. Mrs. Buxton enjoys working with Dr. Brent C. Talbot, Artistic Director
local school districts as a choral pianist and pit musician for various musicals. Jamie Buxton, Pianist
She has served as pianist for the Gilbert and Sullivan Festival and is often called
to help with musical performances in local churches and other venues. Jamie Keith Askins Helen Reaver
