Conclusion
Therefore, the respondents have different perception on the effects of varsity membership
in academic performance. Some of them say it can improve their performance as a student but
also says it is a distraction, sometimes they love and enjoy their chosen sports but sometimes did
not. Many of them tell that their participation as a varsity member doesn’t affect their grades nor
have a failed grade. Instead they make it as an inspiration in their study and in order to win in
every competition. On the other side, based on the result we had conducted, they didn’t borrow
notes to their friends nor classmates they told that the training was not in class time because it is
taken during the night time. Their training is always after class so that no classes are affected and
interrupted. They told also that during a class time they are always participate actively in
recitations, performances of another group activity. Their motto in life is that the sports they
played is just a sport and their second priorities than academic. Sport for them is just for fun not
for their future. The most important thing that they do to maintain their good grades, is the
proper time management. Time management for them is to balance their study and the sports
they choose and love the most. As a results from the aid of questionnaire we notice that varsity
player balanced their time for study, trainings and also other events that is related or they are
involve in being a varsity member. They need to be flexible in many ways to manage their
responsibilities not only as a player but also for being a student.
