5 Pillars of Islam
First Pillar: Shahadah
Profession of Faith and Belief in one God. Christians believe in one God

The Second Pillar: Salat SAH-LAHT Daily ritual prayer Pray 5 times A day.

The Third Pillar: Zakat Charity the Qurn teaches that charity is a practice basic part of
Islam. Give to a religious official or distribute themselves.

The Fourth Pillar: Siyam see-YAM Fasting except pregnant women, travelers, the sick, the
elderly, and young children do not have to fast

The Fifth Pillar: Hajj pilgrimage circle the Ka-bah 7 times at least once in their lifetime.
Key Terms:
Five Pillars of Islam:The most basic acts of worship
for muslims: declaration of faith, prayer, charity,
fasting, and pilgrimage to Mecca.
