WRITING PRACTICE
The writing practice worksheets provide the pinyin pronunciation and English definition of
each word as well as the stroke order and radical component for each character in a word.
The worksheets are the same, except for the size of the boxes.
Trace each character four times then continue to write each character in the remaining boxes.
Try doing all three sizes to get the most practice.
01 Writing Practice Large.pdf
The large version of the writing practice worksheet gives you
a lot of room to learn complex characters with many strokes.
02 Writing Practice Medium.pdf
The medium version of the writing practice worksheet
provides the opportunity to practice each character twice as
many times as the large version at a smaller but still
comfortable size.
03 Writing Practice Small.pdf
The small version of the writing practice worksheet allows you
to practice characters at a smaller size closer to regular
handwriting.
04 Single Sided Flashcards.pdf
These are onesided flashcards; the Chinese vocabulary
word, pinyin and English appear on the same side of each
card. Print and cut along the pale gray dotted lines.
Tip Instead of pulling a card from the top of the deck, pull
each card from the bottom of the deck, revealing only
the Chinese characters while keeping the pinyin and
English answers hidden.
05 Doubled Sided Flashcards.pdf
These flashcards are designed to be printed on the front and
back of the same piece of paper. Once printed, cut along the
pale gray dotted lines.
06 Memory Cards.pdf
Memory (or Pair Matching) is a fun game you can play by
yourself or with others. Cut out all the cards along the pale
gray dotted lines, spread them out upside down and take
turns flipping over two cards at a time looking for a match. If
you get a match, remove the matching pair and find another
pair.
07 One Missing Stroke.pdf
Each character is missing one stroke. Fill in the missing
stroke.
08 Two Missing Strokes.pdf
Each character is missing two strokes. Fill in the missing
strokes.
09 Three Missing Strokes.pdf
Each character is missing three strokes. Fill in the missing
strokes.
10 Four Missing Strokes.pdf
Each character is missing four strokes. Fill in the missing
strokes.
11 Five Missing Strokes.pdf
Each character is missing five strokes. Fill in the missing
strokes.
12 Random Missing Strokes.pdf
Each character is missing a random number of strokes. Fill in
the missing strokes.
13 Character Search.pdf
The character search worksheet requires no writing. It is
designed to improve your ability to recognize characters from
the vocabulary list. Five variations are included.
Tip To easily check your answers, place the answer sheet
behind your sheet and hold both up to the light.
14 Multiple Choice.pdf
This multiple choice worksheets requires you know the
Chinese word and its meaning in English. You don't have to
write anything, just circle the matching answer.
15 Matching.pdf
The matching worksheet requires you to match the Chinese
word with the correct meaning. You must write the Chinese
but you are given the Chinese words at the top of the page to
refer to.
16 Quiz.pdf
The quiz tests your ability to recall and write the Chinese
words without any references.
Finished with the Simplified version? Try the Traditional characters, or vice
versa.
Mix this set's flashcards with your other sets and practice all at the same time.
Always keep a set of flashcards close by. Tempted to check your phone? Pull
out your cards instead.
Print off a few copies of the Quiz.pdf worksheet. Then, every few weeks,
complete the quiz again to ensure you remember everything.
Repeat any worksheets that you made mistakes on until you can do all
worksheets successfully.
Invite your friends or classmates over and challenge them to a game of Memory.
