Week 1
For the first week, I was introduced about project management concept and how it improves
the final result of projects. Also, I was taught about work breakdown structure (WBS) and how
to use Gantt chart on managing project’s schedule. Lastly, the lecturer mentioned vaguely
about the assignment’s requirements to class.
Risk involved
At this time there was only new subjects to study. No risk was involved.
Problem encountered
Because of personal reason, I was not able to fully attend class. Thus, I had some trouble on
understanding new things regarding WBS, Gantt chart. Also, I was not able to gasp the
assignment requirements.
Problem resolved
I tried asking my friend about thing I didn’t understand or I did miss. I was able to resolve this
problem thanks for his help, and also external sources on Internet regarding knowledge of WBS
and Gantt chart.

Week 2
The second week was introduced the concept of IoT which is still new to me. I was able to
understand something about IoT in general and how it applies to real life. The lecturer also
mentioned that IoT will be the main topic of this research. The first assignement are divided
into two parts: Planning and Researching and it was about smart camera initially. I’ve learnt
from assignment brief that I would have to do primary research and secondary research. The
lecturer did remind us about finding an IoT topic to do research about.
Risk involved
The risk might be about my trouble on understanding how to make a Gantt chart since I was
absent some time on the class. It would be difficult to make a good Gantt chart without flaws
for that reason. Also, in order to make Gantt chart I had to use online tool since Microsoft
Project are not free tool. However, online tools are inconvenient for me to keep the save of my
works.
Problem encountered
Because of the absent of first week, I was misundertood some part regarding Gantt chart
knowledge result in making a completely wrong Gantt chart. Therefore, it took more time to
move to next task of doing assigment. The problem also lied in my topic about IoT since it was
misleading toward the project of AI, not IoT. The lecturer did not acknowledge my draft thus I
lost my chance to get his help on my assignment.
Problem resolved
By doing cross-check with my classmates’ work, I was able to identified my misunderstanding
toward assignment’s requirements and Gantt chart knowledge. Althought it takes more time
than intended, it was solved at the end of the week.

 Rewrite the project’s objectives and goal
 Finish the planning phase.
 Do surveys and interviews
 Gather sources regarding topic
Week 3
By the third week, I began my primary research first by creating survey and posted it to
Internet. While waiting for survey’s result, I put effort on redoing the project topic from smart
camera to smart door which I’ve learnt from online article about IoT. I also actively found
articles and online books about the topic to do the primary research. Later on, we learnt from
lecturer that the secondary research should be focused on.
Risk involved
The survey took long time to get enough answer for some reason, it’s likely not enough time to
get result for this project.
Problem encountered
Lecturer warned me about the topic may be too difficult to write about because there would be
not much article would mention about it, I had to change my topic one again. There would be
not much time left.
Problem resolved
I decided to follow the suggested topic from my lecturer, it’s about IoT Smart House. And there
are a lot of articles about Smart House which made things easier to redo. The redoing process
took a lot less time than previous topic.
Upcoming task
 Redo goal, objectives and secondary research.

 Create new survey and interview.
 Finish WBS and insert both WBS and Gantt chart into the report
 Finish the research phase.
Week 4
I spent the whole Monday to remake all the surveys and interview questions. I gave up on
interviewing other students since the dead line was near and I did not afford to waste any more
time, so I decided to do online interview along with survey by using Google forms that requires
people to answers available questions. This time when I present my draft to lecturer, it’s
suprisingly there are no other comments from him except some suggest for minor changes. This
week was only to guide how to do assignment 1, so I had more time to do my project.
Risk envolved
This week we also have to start doing other assignment for other subject, I had to set priority
for which assignment do first. It would be a distraction that could affect this assignment.
Problem encountered
The online interview method has flaws too that after 3 days when I got the results, it was
unexpectedly disappointing. The interview answers were mostly too short, and some didn’t
even answer most of the point of the questions that expected to ask.
Problem solved
Since there are too few valid answers, I tried to contract my friends for help. Since I can tell
them to answer what I expected to see. It’s a lot easier to get valid answers.

 Summarizing survey results

 Choose interview answers to present on primary research
 Update the logbook
 Finish report
Week 5
The deadline was within this week, I was able to choose the best answer for interview section,
same to survey results. I displayed them by using Pie chart that scale for percentage. After all, I
put all the primary research final into my report, and at the same time, I wrote report
conclusion and finish it.
Risk envolved
There was no risk envolved in this week.
Problem encountered/solved
There was no other problem encountered
