What is glide?

- Gliding while swimming happens before a stroke begins, between strokes, after a flip turn or at
the end of a lap. (Charles)

How to Gliding (Charles)

First thing to do is…

- Bend knees

- Hold your breath and place your face in the water

- Stretch both hands out in front of you, making a triangle

-Place one feet on the wall and push

What is Freestyle:

- Implies the freedom to choose any stroke style for competitive swimming.

- Freestyle was traditionally a race that allowed competitors to swim in whichever way they
wanted. However, after what was referred to as the front crawl became the dominant way to freestyle,
the term freestyle has replaced the term front crawl as the name for the stroke.

How to execute the freestyle

First thing to execute… The Arm Stroke. (popoy)

- Perfect your hand placement and entry.

- Work on your down sweep

- Pull your hand and forearm toward the center of your body for the insweep.

- Push your arm in an up, out, and backward motion to backsweep

- Move your elbow out of the water until, it is pointing up for the release.

So next thing is… Kicking and Rotating (Charles)

- Flutter kick just below the surface of the water

- Use the two-beat kick

- Point your toes while you kick

-Rotate your Body in line with your arm stroke.
