Moving up the floor Only authorized personnel can go up the floor Take permission from HSE office if you are not authorized but have to go to floor Use all PPE (Hard Hat, Safety Shoes, Glass) and use hand rails while climbing up the stairs Reaching the floor, connect the safety chains on ladders behind you 2. Stay on the floor. Stay away from the rotating equipment and all pipes colored as red Don’t touch, disturb or finger anything, don’t go near to the drilling pipe Don’t stay too close to the V Door Don’t stay close to the hydraulic unit and drawworks Never try to look deep at the drum of the drawworks when it is operating Only authorized personnel can enter the driller’s consol 3. Working on the Floor Working on the floor is a very dangerous and hazardous activity. If no proper care is taken then the work which seems simple may turn out to be disastrous. The following cares are suggested to prevent and harm to person, machines or the environment:- The floor, pipes and all equipment should be kept as clean as possible The floor men must wear all the needed PPE all the time when working on the floor Mobile phones should never be used while working on the floor Eye glasses must be used when cleaning the pipes being pulled out No staff should stand near to stand pipe manifold for long period of time All the tools used should be kept clean and at proper places better in the tool room The hydraulic tongs must be used properly to avoid pinch points and hit by the tong when reversing All the floor men must follow the instructions by tool pusher and driller Slips should be used in such a way as to put the least load on back bone to avoid ergonomic problems The floor men moving the pipes must hold it and move his feet slow to avoid slip and fall All the personnel on the floor must take care about the moving pipes The personnel working or present on the floor should be careful about the working draw works While greasing the threads of the pipes, try to avoid splashing of grease on the floor The personnel standing close to the V Door must be careful about falling through V Door Note:
No un-necessary personnel should be present on the floor. The floor men must watch out for the personnel around them to prevent any occurrence.
