Transformations Logo Project
Math 7
Everywhere you look, you can find company logos or trademarks. Some are more
popular than others and some are immediately recognizable. There are two parts to this
project. Regardless of what you do, you must share it with Ms. Banks immediately
at akbanks@educbe.ca.
Part 1: (2 Periods)
Search the Internet for popular and successful logos that were not in your teacher’s
Google Slides presentation that you are familiar with (see the next page for the logos
she showed you already). Make a Google Slides Presentation or Prezi that shows the
following:
a. Five logos that have a translation. State the name of the logo and how the
figure is translated.
b. Five logos that have a reflection. State the name of the logo and how the
figure is translated.
c. Five logos that have rotation. State the name of the logo and how the
figure is translated.
*Level 2 - The logos you select should be uncommon and could have a blend of multiple
transformations. You still need to find logos that show five translations, reflections and
rotations.
Part 2: (3 Periods)
Design your own logo that represents yourself or your interests on a piece of graphing
paper with a cartesian plane in the middle that you draw yourself. You must use a ruler
for all lines and colour is expected.
Level 1: Your logo must use either a reflection, translation, or rotation. It must go
through at least two quadrants of the cartesian plane. You must describe how your
shape(s) has been transformed similar to the Ms. Pac Man assignment.
Level 2: It must use two of the following: translation, reflection or rotation. It must go
through all four quadrants of the cartesian plane. You must describe how your shape(s)
has been transformed similar to the Ms. Pac Man assignment.
You must take a picture of your completed logo and put it into your presentation.
You must have a short paragraph on another slide that explains how your logo
represents your personality or interests for full marks.
These are the logo’s your teacher already showed you!
