Amy Braica opened the meeting by welcoming everyone to our December Zoom meeting. She shared with us that Ashley
Padgett had planned on attending the meeting, but that her father-in-law passed away. She also shared the agenda with us
and we skipped the devotion since Chaun Doak was not present.
Kelsey shared that the new teachers at her school really appreciated the gift bags that Alpha Phi donated.
• Coshenda Clark presented the name of Nancy McMahan who is an ELL teacher at Johnson Street. She has done
lots of home visits to people who are new to the country and has done tutoring. She has taught, also, in the
Philippines.
• Amy asked about the possibility of Marty Hmiel joining again. Connie said she would check in with her.
Amy sent out a poll to see what everyone thought about keeping virtual meetings through the spring semester. A motion
was made and seconded. The vote was unanimous to keep meetings virtual through the spring semester 2021.
Amy announced that the Executive Board will meet in February, possibly January.
Dora Lancaster presented World Understanding. The winner was Frances who correctly guessed Uganda.

Pat Dawson reported that there was a good pick-up at Kay Jewelers and delivery went well. She also reported that Fox 8
did a segment on Wednesday 12/2/20 on Leslie’s House and what they are doing to help their clients find housing and
jobs. Amy ran the video from her link.
Amanda announced that the scholarship link goes live on line on December 10. It was suggested that guidance counselors
need information on how to send students to fill out the applications, and even possibly get teachers involved. It was also
suggested that we look for ways to get more high school teachers involved in ADK.
Amy announced that next month’s program will be Vicki Miller and Meg Sheehan presenting their Non-Profit program
that offers wrap around services for marginalized students and families.
Amy led us in singing Happy Birthday to all the sisters with December birthdays.
Frances asked Amy if she would be in attendance for the January day meeting. She announced that 8 members were in
attendance last month.
The meeting ended with the Lamp of ADK. Prior to Amy dismissing the meeting, Amanda announced that Carol Jones, an
ADK president until she received a cancer diagnosis. She will receive palliative care instead of treatment. Our chapter will
send a gift certificate to her.
Respectfully submitted,
Amy Braica opened the meeting with welcome to all! Discussion revolved around our families, holiday
season, covid concerns and the joy of spending time with friends.
Several sisters reported that they had spoken with past members and had invited them to join. Sisters reported
an interest but not joining day group gathering on this date due to Covid. Sisters were happy to hear from
sisters from the chapter.
The group did not take a picture on this day…we were too busy talking!
