Creation of a CMM Build

1. Within Part Manager – Select - Settings/CMM System Manager

2. Select(ICON) – Add CMM configuration

3. Select Create in MachineBuilder & Type in name of environment (cmm) – Select OK

4. Within MachineBuilder – select CMM model (either double click or select Add) from the “Add Machine” list

5. Add rotary table list will now be offered – if table is required select from list, position on CMM table and
Add or double click <<Continue>> to skip. N.B. Rotary table only available if dongle option is available.

6. Add Masterball list will now be offered – select MB from list (MB_20_144 in this example). One click puts
on table – manipulate to position using double ended arrows in display & mouse. Now select Add.

7. Set masterball diameter window is now offered. Type in unique ( calibrated) size & stem dia - Select OK

8. Select << Contine>> or if additional masterballs are


required add now.

9. Add Changer/Rack list is now offered - select MRS600_STD. One click puts on table - manipulate to
position using double ended arrows in display & mouse. Now select Add.

N.B. By double clicking on rack in window, this allows free positioning of Rack on table. Exact position is not
required as this will be determined on the rack alignment routine that will need to be performed

10. Add MRS Module list will now be offered - Select ACR3. One click adds to rail - manipulate to position
using double ended arrows & mouse. Now select Add.

11.From Add MRS module – now select FCR25. One click puts on rail - manipulate to position using double
ended arrows in display & mouse. Now select Add.

12.To add further racks – double click <<Return>>

13.This returns the Add Changer/Rack List.

14. From the Add Changer/Rack list select SCR200. One click puts on table – manipulate to position using
double ended arrows in display & mouse. Now select Add. N.B. Ensure to set Rack in correct direction.

Note :- Port Numbers of Rack can be viewed by selecting the toggle port numbers icon

15. Double click <<Continue>>

16.From select port for reference tree - Select Port 1 of ACR3 – double click

17.The Add ProbeHead list will now be offered - select relevant PH ( PH10MQ in this example).Either double
click or select Add. *From v3.2 R9 a window will then be
offered to input a relevant collar length. Ensure correct
value is input*

18.The window Configure Probe System #1 will now be offered - Continue to build ref configuration –
(PH10MQ, PAA1 ,TP200, TP200SF, 20 x 2mm Stylus in this example. Once built select OK.

19.From Configure Racks & Trees select Port 1 of ACR3.

Setting Parking Port for Modules or Stylus Holder Change

20. Double click or Right click & select Port settings

The following window will now be offered.

21.Tick stylus is subject to change – select port number for parking port. (no.6 in this example).This will set
Port 6 of the SCR as the parking port. Click OK.

22. Now Select Port 2 of ACR3 – double click or right click & select Port settings

23. From the Components list SP25M + SM25_1 has been selected. Now tick either module OR stylus is
subject to change & select no of parking port (no.3 in this example.) Then select OK.

Setting Module/Stylus Holder & Component name for each port

24.Ports for each rack can be re-named to a more meaningful description (this is optional but recommended)
which also enables easier selection To change name for each port, double click or right click & select Port
settings

EXAMPLE OF RENAMED PORTS

Ensure the required modules or stylus holder is defined (selected) for each port from the components list prior
to creating component name otherwise the name will default to original. (SM25-2 in this example for Port 1 of
the FCR25).

To change the component name, type into the Component name field. ( SM25_2 FCR_Port 1 Tree 11 in this
example for Port 1 of the FCR25).

25 .Now select OK.

26. Repeat above for all remaining ports of Racks.

Configure SCR200 Rack

27. Now select Port 1 of ACR3 – right click & select Define probe tree. This is to define each port for the SCR
rack.

28 .Select module 1 ( TP200_SF SCR_Port1 Tree21 in this example) from available components list & select Add.
Input tree no. (no.21 in this example)

29. Select OK. Probe Builder window will be offered. Build as required.

30.Repeat from step 27 to build for each port of the SCR200 rack.

Configure FCR25 Rack

31. Now select Port 2 of ACR3 right click & select Define probe tree. This is to define each port for the FCR
rack

32. Select module 1 ( SM25_2 FCR_Port1 Tree 11in this example) from available components list & click Add.
This will now be added to the selected components list. Input tree no. (11 in this example)

33. .Select OK. Probe Builder window will be offered. Build as required. Then select OK.

34. Repeat from step 31 to build for each port of the FCR25 rack

35. The build is now complete. Select OK.

36. The configuration can now be selected from SystemManager. Note :- A Rack alignment will now need to
be performed within Geopak. (refer to Rack alignment manual) . Also, Volumetric Compensation Data will need
to be entered when learn/repeat mode are started online for the 1st time after a new build.
