Normalization Migration

Normalization Migration
Normalization Migration
All customer systems need to be migrated to the normalized data model until end of year 2021
Show
• Planning notes created in the SAP IBP add-in Notes
for Microsoft Excel or in Web Based Planning
can be displayed in analytics charts
• By clicking on the show notes button in a
display mode, the chart uses the plain and
empty patterns to show data points with and
without planning notes
• The plain bars represent data points that
have planning notes
• The empty bars represent data points that do
not have planning notes
• By selecting a data point with notes on the
chart, the notes are shown in a table below
▪ To display notes, the chart should be saved with one of the options:
− Show for this planning level only
− Show for all levels
▪ The planning notes can be viewed on bar, column, stacked and line charts. The variations of these
charts such as dual axis or combination are also supported.

Analytics & Dashboards
▪ A waterfall chart with time period is a new chart type that can show you how an initial value is
impacted by intermediate values — either positive or negative — and results in a final value
▪ Select the key figures you want to show and a time granularity in the group by field. Select the chart
type “Waterfall with Time dimension”
▪ From the Chart Options tab, you have the possibility to change the value sign from positive to negative
if required
▪ Save the chart
▪ You can now configure the format of the data value label display for each axis separately in dual axis
charts
▪ This is to allow you achieving consistency between the format of the values on the axis and the key
figures that are attached to that axis
The following features are new in apps for which navigations to other systems
have been configured:
▪ The Navigate To button will no longer be displayed for users with whom an
active navigation configuration for an app has not been shared. Thus, users
will not be confused by having a button that doesn’t allow any navigation
options.
In the past, if you wanted to rename for example a template, you had to open the template, add it as a
new template with its new name, and then delete the old template with the old name.
With the 2102.2.0 version of the
SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel (Excel add-in),
you can now easily rename:
▪ Attribute-based planning filters
▪ Value-based planning filters
▪ Planning view templates
▪ Planning view favorites
▪ Master data favorites
▪ Folders
within the Excel add-in through the Organize dialog.

To rename a folder, planning filter, template and favorite via the Organize menu, you click on the pen
icon next to the name to activate the edit mode.
To have your new name validated and checked for duplicate names, you can either select the checkmark or
use the Enter key on your keyboard. You will see that the pen icon slightly changes for items that have
been renamed.
Once you select OK, changes are validated and saved. Please be aware that all changes are being saved,
also the ones that are still in edit mode. If you select Cancel, your unsaved changes are discarded.

Raise of the .NET version with the 2102.2.0 version of the SAP IBP, add-in for
Microsoft Excel
With the 2102.2.0 version of the SAP IBP, add-in for Microsoft Excel, we have raised the minimum
allowed .NET version to 4.8.
It is mandatory to upgrade the .NET version to 4.8 or higher in order to install the 2102.2.0 version
of the Excel add-in.
You can now add attribute selections with selection option ‘contains’ and ‘not equal’ in copy operator
profiles. The following restrictions apply:
▪ For conversion attributes only the selection option ‘equal to’ can be used.
▪ For external key figure only the selection option ‘equal to’ and ‘not equal’ can be used.
▪ For the selection option ‘contains’ the attribute value mustn’t contain * or %
Prepare Migration
An automatic migration of copy and disaggregation operators is planned with the upgrade to 2108.
▪ Inconsistent operators can't be migrated.
▪ To prepare for the automatic migration, please correct all inconsistent operators or delete them if they're obsolete.
▪ To help you find inconsistent operators, the system triggers a weekly operator migration in simulation mode which
generates an application log that identifies inconsistent operators.
▪ More details see here:

Introducing the new and improved features of the Manage Master Data app
From the personalization panel, the visibility of optional fields can be toggled. These include
▪ Description attributes columns (if description attributes are linked to the selected attributes)
▪ Difference and difference in percentages columns
▪ The columns containing the change history related information, except Change ID column which is always
visible
You can change the order of columns in the effect view table using drag and drop of columns.
Personalizations are
saved when View is saved.
By hovering over a single change ID, you can see information about who made the change, when,
what was the reason for the change and the comment that was entered by the user as well as the
source of change
Change History information that you see on the screen can be exported using the Export to
Spreadsheet button to extract the data to a file. This XLS file will be saved to the default download
folder of your browser.
▪ Saved filters that were migrated are kept, they are still accessible in the old Change History app
▪ Some saved filters will be automatically adjusted while generating change history views for the new Change
History Analysis app. The following adjustments can happen:
− missing conversion target for unit of measure or currency is automatically determined based on most widely used
unit in planning objects (if selected key figure was unit conversion relevant).
− missing time range of changes is automatically set to display the changes of the last 1 week
− missing version is automatically set to Baseline version
− non-existing filter attributes are removed
− non-existing key figures are removed, those key figures that are neither change history enabled nor do they contain a
change history enabled key figure in their calculation chain are automatically removed
− the filter attributes that are not contained in the base planning level of the selected key figures are removed. In case of
multiple selected key figures only those attributes are kept that can be found in the base planning levels of all selected
key figures.
▪ Some saved filters will not be migrated to the change history views of the new Change History Analysis app
for compatibility reasons or because they are inconsistent. These cases are the following:
− they refer to non-existing planning areas
− if after the automatic adjustments the variant would not be consistent with the new app, then it is not migrated.

Change History Analysis
▪ The new Change History Analysis app is the successor of the old Change History app.
▪ We plan to remove the old app from the SAP Fiori launchpad with 2105.
▪ To prepare, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the new app by the upgrade to
2105 at the latest.

Using the dynamic rolling aggregation (IBP_DYNAMIC_RAGGR) function, you have the possibility to
define your calculation horizon with attributes and key figures as well, in addition to constants.
- Start of dynamic rolling aggregation can be a constant (integer), an attribute (integer) or a key
figure (decimal part is neglected).
- Duration of dynamic rolling aggregation can be a constant (integer), an attribute (integer) or a key
figure (decimal part is neglected).

difference is in case when the time periods for a planning object combination is missing.

Simplified Key Figures
COUNT Aggregation
In SAP IBP there are the following aggregation functions: AVG, SUM, MIN, MAX.
Use the COUNT aggregation to count how many planning object combinations have values for
the given time period.
COUNT can be used for various statistical calculations e.g. mean, standard deviation, sum of
squares etc., in connection with the business requirements to calculate outliers filtering,
forecast quality judgments, taking mean values across time buckets.
There are widely known formulas where N is either in the counter or in the denominator of the
formula:
COUNT Aggregation
COUNT checks and counts how many planning object combinations have values for the given time
period. If the input key figure has data uploaded for a given time period at the base planning level, the
result of the COUNT aggregation is 1, otherwise it is 0.
COUNT can only be used for calculated key figures.
COUNT can be used as a parameter for IBP_CAGGR, IBP_RAGGR, IBP_DYNAMIC_RAGGR
Example
COUNTKF@REQUEST = COUNT("COUNTKF@MTHPRODLOC")
COUNTKF@MTHPRODLOC = "STOREDKF@MTHPRODLOC"
The new RESLOCPRODCOUNT (Number of Products planned by Resource) key figure has been introduced to the
SAPIBP1 (Unified Planning Area). It uses the new modeling function COUNT aggregation.
