DISCLAIMER:
I do not take any responsibility for any issues you may get into when doing all this!

Hardware, material and additional information I did use for this

example
 Thrustmaster MFD Cougar Pack

 11,6 Inch 1920X1080 HDMI LCD monitor

 3M Dual Lock(TM) Klett Power - High-Tech Druckverschluss, selbstklebend (4 Strips - 19 x 100

mm) (Velcro, 4 strips)

 I did use the “Dummies Guide for the “MonitorSetup.lua“” to get an idea about the script
work
 A scripteditor to edit the .lua scripts – I strongly recommend the free software “Notepad ++”

Choosing the right display for your setup

It is up to you and your personal flavor/setup, which screen suits you best. I did choose the before
mentioned 11.6” 16:9 1080p monitor, since it comes with a sturdy metal housing, 12V power supply
and a HDMI cable.

Attaching the MFDs to the screen

The 11.6 inch monitor provides enough space to place both Cougar MFD next to each other.

I am using the 3M Velcro to attach the MFDs and remove them again, when necessary.
I did cut the 4 strips lengthwise into 8 more narrow strips

Furthermore I did use and cut some sheet of protective foam from the display package and did cut it
to mask / cover the free spots. You can easily slide it between the mounted MFDs and display from
the bottom end.

Windows Display Setup

Make sure, that the display setup is aligned and note down the resolution from windows

How to calculate the screen resolution for the DCS INGAME screen resolution setting
You simply need to add the width of both screens for your DCS INGAME screen resolution as shown
below:

Note: I did use the values from my own setup. You need to use your own combined screen resolution

Keep these values in mind and continue with the next step. (Don’t change the ingame setting yet!)

Setting up DCS for the MFCD export

First step the monitor setup script
1. Lookup your “MonitorSetup” – folder in your DCS installation directory

2. Open the file “1Camera.lua” with your notepad ++ and save it as a NEW file with a different
name. NOTE: DO NOT OVERWRITE OR ALTER THE CONTENT OF THE ORIGINAL 1Camera.lua
FILE!

3. Edit the new file in your notepad ++ editor to prepare the monitor setup script as follows
NOTE: “name” and “Description” has to be identical with the file name.

This is the resolution of your

MAIN screen which displays the
regular DCS view.
NOTE: please use the correct
aspect ratio!

X / Y value in pixels of the

LEFT_MFCD position on your
second screen.

width / height for the size of the

screen

X / Y value in pixels of the

RIGHT_MFCD position on your
second screen.

width / height for the size of the

screen

4. Now save the file and start DCS.

4. DCS will restart and you are done.

Additional info about exporting screens from other modules

It is possible to export screens from third party modules such as the Viggen, Gizelle etc. but you need
to edit some init files for each module and with each DCS update, these changes have to be applied
again. I might write an additional how to on this topic, but there are tons of sources online explaining
the necessary steps.

AV8B NA – the Harrier needs keys to toggle the export:

The AV8B does export the MFCDs like the ED Modules –BUT you have to bind keys in the AV8B
options to toggle the export during flight:
