Manang Margarita bought this secondhand cauldron (kaldero) from an Indian seller (Bombay in
street language). It is made of iron alloy with a height of 11 inches and circumference of 41 inches. It has
an initial of CTR which symbolizes the name of the previous owner. Manang Margarita uses this pot on
very special occasions which require massive preparation of food.
The parents of Manang Margarita were once rice retail vendors in old market of Calasiao. When
her mother got her salary, she decided to buy a cauldron as a souvenir of her hardships and
perseverance on her work. From then, whenever there are special occasions in their community, they
borrow this cauldron.
