Subject: Your Excessive Use of E-mail!

Once again I have to decidedly unpleasant task of reminding all employees that you may not
utilize company computers or the Internet other than for work-related business and essential
personal messages. Effective immediately the new policy will be implemented.

Our guys in IT tell me that our bandwidth is now seriously compromised by some of you boys
and girls who are using company computers for gaming blocking shopping and downloading
streaming videos. Yes, we have given you the right to use email responsibly for essential
personal messages. But that does not include checking your Facebook or MySpace accounts
hours or downloading your favorite shows or sharing music.

We distributed an email policy a little while ago. We have now found it necessary to amplify and
extrapolate that policy to include the use of the Internet. If our company does not control email
and Internet use, you will continue to suffer slow downloads. You may also lose the right to use
email at all. In the past, every employee has had the right to send a personal email occasionally,
But he might use that right carefully. We may have to prohibit the personal use of email entirely.
Do not make me do this!

You will be expected to study the attached email and Internet policy and return the signed form
with your agreement to adhere to this policy. You must return this form by March 1. No
exceptions!

Comment: The entire demanding and impolite email shows an unprofessional and rude
vice president. It would be dissatisfying to all the employees to receive this email.
Most of the words are familiar, yet are too informal for an email.
The “you” view is not applied appropriately. “You” is mentioned when the vice president
wants to blame his employees and it creates a stressful feeling for them.
The employer would like the employees to learn the rule and report
