3. The average score on your Math Exams was 75 with a standard deviation of 20. Assuming the
scores are normally distributed.
a. If your corresponding z-score was 1.5, what is your corresponding raw score and
percentile rank?
b. If the top 5% are given A’s in that examination, what is the lowest raw score to get
an A?
c. What percentage of the students got a score above 90?

4. A mathematics placement test is given to all incoming freshmen at the College of
Accountancy. A student who receives a grade below 35 is denied admission to the regular
mathematics course and placed in a remedial class. The placement test scores and the final
grades for 20 students who took the regular course were recorded.

5. In a given community, a survey was conducted to determine whether there is any relationship
between the size of one’s yearly income x (in hundred thousands of pesos) and the size of
one’s home y (in hundreds of square meters). The data were collected for 10 samples.
