Since all these approximations are based on 8 rules. I haven't mentioned them against each
question. they are

1)All non-zero digits are considered significant


2)Zeros appearing anywhere between two significant figures are significant
3)Zeros to the left of the significant figures (leading zeros) are not significant
4)Zeros to the right of the non-zero digits (trailing zeros) are significant if they are to the
right of the decimal point as these are only necessary to indicate precision

addition and subtraction


5) For addition and subtraction, look at the places to the decimal point. Add or subtract in
the normal fashion, then round the answer to the LEAST number of places to the decimal
point of any number in the problem.

Multiplication and division


6)The LEAST number of significant figures in any number of the problem determines the
number of significant figures in the answer.

7)if the next digit is 5 or more, increase the previous digit by one
8)if its's 4 or less, keep the previous digit the same
