Business Net is any commercial transaction that involves sharing information through the

internet. There are several businesses whose activities are carried out entirely or partially online.

These business activities can be buying, selling or advertising, all done through online portal

with the help of a website, which acts as the point of interaction between the customer and the

business. Net business types are categorized under 5 main headings: Business Web Agora,

Business Web Aggregator, Business Web Integrator, Business Web Distributor and Business

Web Alliance.

Business Web Aggregator are websites that basically involves variety of products with no price

negotiation between the customer and the supplier (Kutz 2016, p. 29). These websites aggregate

content from multiple social networking sites and present them in a single domain like Amazon.

“is dedicated to making inventories of products from various manufacturers that will be sold to

various retailers.” E-commerce platform. Distributors offer in-time delivery of goods and

services to their customers and sometimes provide range of services like technical support and

product information. Example of a business web distributor is Talabat, which is an online food

delivery service all over the UAE (United Arab Emirates). https://www.talabat.com/uae

Similarities between an aggregator like Amazon and a distributor like Talabat is their need to

satisfy their customers with the various product and services they provide. Also, they provide

product information and technical support to their customers to ease the e-business process.

Moreover, they are both completely online base, working only on their various websites to bring

customers closer to their desired products and services. As such, they always act as an

intermediary between the supplier/manufacturer and the customers, using their online portal.
Also, they are both obsessed with providing excellent services to their customers in order to

boost their online presence.

However, they have certain differences that could not be overlooked. With Amazon, the buyer

act solely as the customer for the products offered while with Talabat, the buyer is the recipient

of the services provided by the delivery company. Also, Talabat pride themselves with on-time

delivery of their products and services while Amazon is solely responsible for the customers’

convenience and satisfaction with the goods and services they provide.

Aggregators like Amazon enjoy exclusive profitability margin made possible by their enormous

online presence. With the pandemic affecting the world, most people have turned to online

shopping for their needs. As a result, Amazon’s profit margin has increased as compared to

2019, given that they provide worldwide trusted online services. Most customers prefer to do

business online with Amazon which also creates greater market share for Amazon products.

Also, Amazon deals with products for all demography which makes it easier to attract customers,

since they are confident to get what they are looking for. As a result, Amazon always try to

provide the best services to their customers.

The presence of review in their website provide feedback for Amazon services, which helps

them improve how to better serve their customers in providing exactly what they need. Thus,

their online presence provides room for improvement of services offered to customer, as well as

helps them to frequently update their services. Moreover, they try to provide fast delivery

services, as customers expect to receive their products on time. Given that Amazon provide a

worldwide online market, their delivery is sometimes delayed due to other factors. However, e-

commerce has made it possible for customers to be able to track their shipment and be sure of

delivery at the earliest time possible.


Distributors like Talabat, whose presence is solely online base enjoys greater market share. This

is because, their services are trusted by their online customers due to their on-time delivery

service and the fact that they always put customer satisfaction a priority. As such, providing and

improving their services to meet the customers’ needs gives them the opportunity to update and

frequently improve their online websites in order to meet the needs of the customers. This greatly

increase their profit margin and boost their online business in several spheres.
