9 Weeks Essay

Is Macbeth the cruelest one of all? Macbeth is a killer whose

appetite for ambition. Macbeth is lady Macbeth's husband who she used
to kill Duncan, but after that Macbeth turned into a cold blooded killer.
The witches show him a prophecy and Macbeth uses it to change who
will be heir to the king.Macbeth still has full control afterwards making
the choices he did solely on his own and I think that’s a good reason
why Macbeth is to blame. Macbeth's role is to try and complete the
prophecy, by killing any heirs to the king.

At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is presented as a good character

that is manipulated by his wife to kill duncan.Lady Macbeth makes
Macbeth kill Duncan in her goal to become queen. Macbeth was
innocent at this part in the play. Macbeth wanted nothing to do with
killing Duncan, but if he didn't lady Macbeth would do it herself. It could
be argued that Lady Macbeth is the worst but Macbeth would have made
his own decisions afterwards. Macbeth kills Duncan with extreme regret
on his hands after all of it, lady Macbeth made Macbeth get over his self
conscious and push past the murder.

At the beginning of the next act, Macbeth is presented as eager to and

on the hunt after going to talk with the 3 witches. When Macbeth goes to
see the witches they all cast a spell upon him, “Double, double, toil and
trouble;Fire burn and cauldron bubble.” The witches did this spell in act 4
scene 1, the witches cast bad fortune and trouble over Macbeth.
Macbeth then learns that Macduff’s family is setup for heir so he then
decides to plan a murder upon Macduff in his family. Macbeth then
murders Macduff’s whole family later in act 4 scene 2.

After Macbeth kills Duncan, he has full control over what he will do and
Macbeth's ambition to kill is on him. Macbeth keeps the killing going after
forced to murder Duncan by lady Macbeth. Macbeth's desire to get rid of
anything in his way of being king is all solely on his own want to kill. It
could most definitely be argued that all of Macbeth's actions have been
manipulated by other characters in the story, but i believe he could’ve
stopped whenever he felt like it.

I believe from the beginning of the play to now Macbeth was a good
character who was manipulated by his wife and the witches in the
beginning. Macbeth had many decisions afterwards to lead him in the
opposite direction from what he did instead of going back to killing more
people. I also believe it’s very arguable about how he's the one to blame
for everything. In my opinion, the proof I've collected I believe Macbeth
should be the character to blame during this whole play. In a way
Macbeth may have been manipulated but he carried out all the killings
on his own.
