MINUTES OF THE MEETING


VIRTUAL KUMUSTAHAN OF SCHOOL-BASED MANAGEMENT PRACTITIONERS
February 11, 2021 @ 9:00 AM

The virtual meeting started at exactly 9:00 in the morning. It was started by the singing of
national anthem and followed by a prayer. Ma’am Cherry Ann Roque, Education Program Specialist, led
the Recitation of Quality Policy.

Acknowledge of the Participants was done by Sir Edwin Catulin, EPS in SGOD. He shared his
insightful ideas about the implementation of the SBM. He also inspired everyone to share one’s best
practices and commitment in the implementation of the SBM practices.

Opening Remarks was given by Ma’am Marites LLanes, ASDS. She encouraged everyone to
achieve SBM level 3. She also gave short feature of RA 9155, wherein this served as basis to achieve
goals and make the learners functional literate citizens of the country.

Ma’am Gina M. Durian, SGOD Chief, also gave her message. She informed everyone about
the purpose of the virtual activity, status of SBM implementation in terms of technical assistance
extended to all the school such as:
 Preparation of MOVs per dimension
 Accomplishments and things needed to be done to achieve level 3.

She further emphasized that the Virtual Kumustahan serves as avenue to share one’s SBM
best practices and formally address the issues and concerns on SBM.

Sir Reynante Z. Caliguiran, SDS, gave his inspirational message. He encouraged everyone to
do extra mile, improve in terms of sense of responsibility and accountability. He emphasized on the
implementation of the four SBM dimensions; Leadership and Governance, Curriculum and Instruction,
Accountability and Continuous Improvement and Management of Resources. He requested the SGOD
Chief to present the points garnered by each school on SBM assessment. He also encouraged everyone
to involve all internal as well as external stakeholders. He also emphasized on ACCESs- A Child and
Community-Centered Education System, to strengthen the practice of SBM.

Ma’am Gina M. Durian presented the result of assessment of SBM in every school.
Afterwhich, Sir Reynante Z. Caliguiran, SDS, announced the points garnered by each schools. AIS was not
given points/grade among the schools in the division as reflected in the report. Right there, some SHs
informed Sir Rey on their self-assessment rating which was submitted in the division office last year.

Kumustahan Proper was done and representatives of each district presented their SBM best
practices and accomplishments.

Ma’am Cherry Ann Roque, Educational Program Specialist, discussed about the SMEA
wherein the source of data for the planned outputs comes from the OPCRF, AIP and BE-LCP.
During her discussion, Sir Junar datul, gave suggestions on the schedule of submission of the first
quarter SMEA Report. Sir Reynante Z. Caliguiran interfered during the discussion and he suggested that
the submission of SMEA report must be done quarterly but later he recommended that it must be done
in January. He further requested the SMEA Team to give more technical assistance on how to
accomplish the new SMEA template

Ma’am Aileen Ibaṅez, discussed about DO 44, S. 2016 – GUIDELINES ON THE SCHOOL-TO
SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016---- cultivate partnerships between Leader Schools
and nearby schools.

 Leader Schools – high-performing schools

 Partner Schools – schools that will be assisted by Leader Schools in reaching their
potential in school performance

 Partnership activities and projects – collaborative activities and projects between a


Leader School and a Partner School for the purpose of improving the performance of the
Partner School. This includes the sharing of best practices or provision of technical
assistance as well as coaching and mentoring support by the Leader School to its Partner
School

DO. No. 44, s. 2016 aims to generate short-term positive outcomes among schools involved
in partnerships which are enabling mechanisms of effective schools. These outcomes
include the following:

● Partner Schools are engaged in collaborative professional development activities such as


CI, LAC, and action research;

● Partner Schools jointly undertake planning, problem-solving, and resource mobilization


activities to address community-wide educational problems.

● Partner Schools improve social trust, awareness and understanding with other schools.

Before the meeting ended, Ma’am Gina Durian informed the participants that they will
continue the SBM validation.

The virtual meeting ended successfully at exactly 12:51 in the afternoon.
