The key takeaways are that Six Sigma aims to improve business processes by reducing defects and variation. It uses statistical tools and aims for continuous improvement in profits, quality and employee morale.

The two methodologies of Six Sigma projects are DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) and DMADV (Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify the Design).

The different levels of Lean and Six Sigma are White belt, Yellow belt, Green belt, Black belt, Master black belt and Champion. Each level has different roles and responsibilities.

ASSIGNMENT #02 IE-431 89(B)EC

P/O IJAZ AHMAD (19208) SQN LDR M. UMAIR

ANSWER:
SIX SIGMAS:
It is the method that provides organizations tools to improve the
capability of their business processes. This help us to increase in
performance of a material. It helps us to decrease in the process of
variation. It makes the defect reduction and It leads us for improvement
of profits, employee morale, and quality of the products.
Two methodologies of Six Sigma projects. They are the following.
DAMIC:(Define, Analyze, Measure, Improve, Control)
DMADV:(Define, Measure, Analyze, Design, Verify the Design)
Lean Six Sigma:
It is a fact-based, data-driven philosophy. This lean six sigma help us for
the improvement that values defect prevention over defect detection. It
leads customer satisfaction. It is reducing the variation in the results and
outcomes, waste, and cycle time. It is promoting the use of work
standardization and flow. It applies anywhere variation and waste exist.
Its also applies where the employees involved.
Integration of Lean and Six Sigma:
Both the Lean and Six Sigma provides customers satisfaction with the
best possible quality. Low affordable cost. Fast delivery action. New
changes in the production.
Integration of Lean: It focuses on waste reduction. It try to achieves its
goals by using less technical tools such as kaizen. The workplace
organization, and visual controls. whereas Six Sigma
emphasizes variation reduction.

Integration of six sigma: The Six Sigma

emphasizes variation reduction. It try to use statistical data. The
analysis, design of experiments, and hypothesis testing.

Different levels of Lean and Six Sigma:

The levels are divided into different belts:

White belt:

White Belts participate in projects and problem-solving tasks related to

quality management and waste reduction.

Yellow belt:

Part time member. It provides supporting roles. Helps in collection,

validation and monitoring effect.

Green belt:

It is also the part time team member. It deals with less complex projects.
It gives us basic working knowledge for lean six sigma project.

Black belt:

It is generally Full-time person for lean six sigma projects and derive
complex projects. It trains and educate green and yellow belt. It
communicates with champion.

Master black belt:

It is the assistant and advisor to champions. It supports black belts. It

monitors and removes bottlenecks. It spread expertise about the lean six
sigmas in the organization.

Champaign:

This is the leader of the organization. It sponsors the project. It promotes

and support projects with resources. It is task decision on bottleneck.

Requirements to achieve Lean and Six Sigma levels:

For achieving the levels of lean six sigma an individual that possesses a
thorough understanding of enhanced problem-solving skills, with an
emphasis on the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and
Control) model. That individual is to serve as a trained team member
within his or her function-specific area of the organization. This focus
allows the Green Belt to work on small, carefully defined Six Sigma
projects.
