INSTRUCTION:

Practical assessment

The welding class 2022 of the Caribbean Military Technical Training Institute (CMTTI) was
task by Maj. GA Grant McDonald the director, to fabricate Six (6) tables for the Caribbean
Military Academy (CMA) Head Quarters. The material should be order and purchase from the
supplier and should be fabricated and delivered to the headquarters within Five (5) working days.

The material that will be needed should include:

1. 2” angle iron – $3600 per length

2. 1/4” Mild steel plate - $9400 per sheet

3. 2 Packs of welding electrode – $1650 each

4. 1 Gallon Primer – $1920 per gallon

5. 2 Paint brush $420 per Brush

6. 3 Quarts of black oil paint - $2500 per Quart

The dimension of the tables are 4x4x3.

Task:
1. Trainees are required to calculate the amount of angle iron and mild steel plate needed.

2. Trainees are required to create a proforma invoice for the items above.
3. Trainees are required to produce a Gantt chart to represent each day’s activity.

During assessment each individual should:

 Demonstrate the ability to measure and calculate manually


 Demonstrate safe working practices at all times
 Communicate information about processes, events or tasks being undertaken to ensure a
safe and efficient working environment
 Take responsibility for the quality of their own work
 Perform all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures
 Operate in an autonomous team environment to achieve required objectives
 Perform all tasks to specifications
 Use accepted engineering techniques, practices, processes and workplace procedures.
