chain hoists (Fig. 3 / p. 7).

EH111509-111201-00-02

Fig. 2: Lifting device Fig. 3: Installation aids

Installing the first Longitudinal Rail 0

• Determine the orientation point per the Project Plan.

• Aling the drilling template for the table base on the orientation point.

NOTE The two dimensions: 2400mm to the end of the rail and 97
mm to the outside edge of the rail (reference point), starting
from the orientation point in each instance, absolutely must
be observed.
The 2nd line on the drilling template (97 mm distance from
the OP) corresponds to the outside edge of the foot-end lon-
gitudinal rail.

• Project the mark on the drilling template (Fig. 5 / p. 8) for the outside edge of the longi-
tudinal rail onto the ceiling sub-construction (Unistrut rails) using a plumb bob or a laser.
- The distances are each measured from the outermost edges.

screws.

Fig. 7: Profil der Längslauschiene / Profile of the longitudinal rail

WARNING Hardness rating of the Allen screws and Unistrut nuts

Use of screws and Unistrut nuts with the incorrect hardness
rating can lead to serious mechanical problems as well as to
a collapse of system components.
¹ These Unistrut nust are not included in the shipment,
but must be obtained on-site. They must conform to
hardness rating 8.8. The M10x35 Allen screws, hard-
ness rated 8.8 must be threaded at least 10 mm into the
Unistrut nuts (if necessary, use longer Allen screws,
hardness rated 8.8).

• Insert the orange, self-adhesive colored strips included in the shipment into the 3 longi-
tudinal rails.
• It may be necessary to realign the longitudinal rail per the Project Plan.
• Remove the two longitudinal rail holders.

Installing the other Longitudinal Rails 0

• Installation of the middle longitudinal rail is performed in the same way as the foot-end
longitudinal rail.
Note: The end of the pinion rack must be flush with the end of the longitudinal
rail on the operator side. The pinion rack is about 15 cm too short on the end of
the back.
• Determine the required spacing to the middle longitudinal rail; to do this, place the two
spacer gauges (Fig. 9 / p. 10) at the ends on the top of the longitudinal rails.

• Retighten the two knurled screws.

NOTE If there is movement or vibrations of the rotation laser, rotat-

ing movement of the laser head is stopped. After switching it
on again, the laser levels itself again.

• Determine the lowest point of the longitudinal rails with the rotation laser; to do this,
- place a ruler on the bottom of the longitudinal rail.
- At all 21 mounting points (or 9 additional mounting points for the “Longitudinal Rail
Extension” option), read the distance to the laser mark and transcribe this to the
dimensional drawing (1/Fig. 15 / p. 15).
- Determine the lowest point of the longitudinal rails.

Additional End Stops for Smaller Rooms 0

Fig. 17: Minimum distances

NOTE Installation of additional end stops in smaller rooms must be

taken into consideration during room planning.
Reason: the orientation point of the table is always relative to
the reference point (back of stop) (dimension 2400mm). If a
second end stop is installed, the table must be moved
accordingly.
Additional stops can cause movement restrictions; see the
Operating Instructions. If needed, the floating tale movement
must be blocked in the X and Y directions (use the transport
safety device).

The movement ranges must be restricted for smaller examination rooms.

To do this, an “Update Kit for Smaller Rooms, Part No.: 59 02 262” is required.

Second End Stop in the Longitudinal Rails (Y Direction)

NOTE If there are differences in the dimensions of the walls, the

parallelism of the three additional stops in the longitudinal
rails must be ensured.
To do this, determine the longitudinal rail that has the least
amount of space to the wall. Install the fist stop in this rail.
Then transfer the distances to the remaining stops, regard-
less of the wall.

• To install a second end stop, insert the drilling template (1/Fig. 19 / p. 18) in each of the
ends of the longitudinal rails.
• Secure the spacer gauge (300 mm) (2/Fig. 19 / p. 18) on the drilling template with 2
Allen screws (3/Fig. 19 / p. 18).

Fig. 19: 300 mm template

• Move the drilling template out until the spacer gauge touches the wall.
• Secure the drilling template against moving using the set screw (4/Fig. 19 / p. 18).
• Drill two holes (5 mm).
• Lightly tap the holes using the center tap that is provided and cut an M6 thread.
• Remove the drilling template and the gauge.
• Perform the same routiine (if necessary) at the other end of the longitudinal.

Longitudinal Rails 19

T • Install the two stops as shown in the following figure.

Fig. 20: Plumb bob

NOTE For later adjustment of the room coordinates (lower end

stop) using the SSW, it is absolutely necessary that the dis-
tance of 2400 mm be maintained from the back of the end
stop to the orientation point.

• Use the rotation laser or a plumb bob to project the back of the stop (Fig. 20 / p. 19)
onto the floor.

08.06 AX SCM W MIP
20 Longitudinal Rails

• The distance of the reference point to the table orientaiton point (2400 mm) absolutely
must be maintained; because of this, the table must be moved accordingly by the
dimension X (Fig. 20 / p. 19).

NOTE A corresponding movement of the table also has the conse-

quence of changing the cabl channel. This must be taken into
consideration during planning.

Second End Stop in the Transverse Bridges (X Direction)

NOTE If there are differences in the dimensions of the walls, the

parallelism of the vour additional stops in the transverse
bridges must be ensured.
To do this, determine the transverse bridge that has the least
amount of distance to the wall. Install the first stop on this
bridge. Then the distances of the remaining stops is trans-
ferred, regardless of the wall.

• To install a second end stop, insert the drilling template (Fig. 22 / p. 20) only at the
head-end of each transverse carriage.
• Secure the spacer gauge (423 mm) on the drilling template using two Allen screws.

Fig. 22: 423 mm template

• Move the drilling template out until the spacer gauge touches the wall.
• Secure the drilling template agains moving using the set screw.
• Drill two holes (5 mm).
• Lightly tap the holes with the center tap provided and cut a M6 thread.
• Remove the drilling template and the gauge.
