1. This assignment is 20 marks and will contribute 20% to your grade.

2. Use the cover page for the assignment in the next page and save your document as :
Your group name_class_assignment1 (e.g. Excellence_BA243 1A_assignment1).
Save it in word doc. Upload the assignment in Google Classroom. Only one person
from the group should upload the assignment.

3. The assignment must be typed according to the following format:

Font type : Arial


Font size : 11
Line Spacing : 1.5
Paragraph : Justify
Margins : 2.5 cm top, bottom, left and right

4. Citation of cases must be bold, italic & underlined.

Answer the question.

QUESTION

Razman wants to buy furniture for a new branch office that he will be opening. He discussed
about buying furniture, his budget for the furniture and other matters concerning the new
office with his assistant, Hamid. However, as Razman is always busy, he kept postponing to
buy the furniture. Hamid wanted to be helpful, so he ordered the furniture for the new office
from Office Pro Co. (OPC). He ordered tables and chairs for the staff working area, meeting
room and sofa for the reception area as he knew that Razman wanted to purchase the
furniture. Hamid used his own name when he placed the orders and did not inform Razman
that the payment for the furniture must be made in two days after placing the order. Razman
was upset when he received the bill from OPC and refused to pay as the amount was more
than his budget. OPC argued that Razman is bound by Hamid’s action as Hamid was
Razman’s agent. Razman wants to know if he can refuse to approve Hamid’s unauthorized
action.

Advise Razman.
