Ausonia’s factories and research laboratories are situated in Marsala. Since 1989,
Ausonia has systematically invested in the development of one of the most
modern industrial plants in the industry, in compliance with the strictest European
standards.
To date, Ausonia markets in more than thirty different countries with a network of
agents and dealers that the branches in California and Russia also help to handle.
A vast organization throughout the country and an efficient after-sales service are
distinguishing features of Ausonia.
1932
2
In an area covering 32000 sqm, more than 14000 sqm of which are built-up, the
Ausonia plants are recognized for their high degree of specialization and are outfitted
with equipment like semi-anechoic chambers for the electromagnetic compatibility
and climatic tests and for operating tests in arctic climates.

Prime Power must not exceed the percentage fixed from
endothermic engine supplier. It is possible to
read this percentage from suppliers data sheets
and it is between 70 and 80% of PRP.

Canopy
The canopy is able to house the genset and all its accessories, including the automatic control and monitoring panel.
It allows the genset to function to the utmost of its rated performances whether it is installed indoors or outdoors.
The noise level depends on the type of genset and the canopy version.
Canopies of the modular type can be easily removed when necessary, in order to allow supplementary maintenance
work to be conducted on the genset. The longitudinal walls of the cowling have large, full-width doors to facilitate the
inspection and servicing work.
The door covering the electric control and monitoring panel has a transparent part to allow the operating parameters
to be checked without having to open the actual door itself. The entire canopy, completely realized with press-bend
elements and panels made of electrogalvanised metal sheet, is bolted straight on to the frame members of the base,
which have been specially designed for that purpose.
The soundproofing effect of the canopy is obtained by lining the internal walls with special high-density glass wool
panels treated with thermosetting resins. These panels are protected by hard-wearing fireproof black coloured glass
fiber fabric in fire reaction class 0.
In the Silent version, the soundproofing effect of the air flowing in and out of the canopy is obtained by specially shaped
ducts lined with the soundproof material. These elements assure, in the meantime, the protection against the rain.
The ducts in the Supersilent version are equipped with additional, shaped soundproofing elements, which have been
specially designed to lower the predominant frequencies of the diesel engine and reduce the noise level to the utmost
while keeping the dimensions down.
The soundproofed canopy is equipped with an exhaust gas silencer.
The canopy is coated inside and out exclusively with
polyester powder paints, oven-cured at 220°C in the
Ral 7035 shade.
The use of coated-zinc metal sheet and the special
painting treatment assure very high performances
against the corrosion also in outdoor installation.

(1) The dimensions not include the residential exhaust muffler because, this one,
will be supplied loose to mount on the canopy roof.

Shelter
The shelter is a specially designed metal housing for the genset and relative accessories.
The horizontal bearing structures are made of boxed tubular profiles in very thick carbon steel.
The bed plate of the shelter consists of press-bent profiles stiffened in a particular way on a level with the zone on which
the genset’s base is positioned. The vertical bearing structures are made from very thick press-bent sheet metal.
The bearing structures of the shelter are completed by corner blocks made of ISO standardized steel electrowelded to
the structure itself.
The floor surface of the shelter’s bed plate is made from steel checker-plate.
The walls and ceiling are made of 2 mm thick electrogalvanised metal panels with edging formed by the bending press
so as to achieve a stiff structure as well as allowing the various panels to be joined together and insulating material to
be installed.
The insulating material used for lining all the walls inside the shelter consists of 50 mm high density glass wool with
class 0 fire resistance. Sheets of Aluzinc tension-levelled netting complete the insulating coating and also give the walls
an excellent appearance.
The air that cools the engines radiator and, thus, the entire shelter, can enter through one of the ends of this latter or
through side pockets. This latter method is particularly favoured when the end of the shelter is used for installing the
electric panel and relative door allowing access from the outside.
All the air inlets and outlets are equipped with rain-shielding shutters protected by galvanized netting to prevent animals
from entering.
The soundproofing of the shelter is made by soundtrap partitions or screens made from built with appropriately protected
glass-fiber panels with class 0 fire resistance.
The hot air produced by the radiator is exhausted through the end opposite to the one where the air enters.
If the shelter is soundproofed, a system formed by a certain number of soundtrap partitions made from glass-fiber panels
with class 0 fire resistance will be housed prior to the outlet shutter.
All this is able to lower the noise level to within the established values and
also ensures that the shelter as a whole is within the 0 fire reaction class.
All the shelters we manufacture are protected on the outside with
the following treatment cycle:
• Pickling of all surfaces;
• Application of an undercoat suitable for galvanized surfaces;
• Application of an aliphatic polyurethane enamel coat, in the
Ral 7035 shade;
• The internal floor surface is treated with special floor paint;
• The bottom of the shelter is treated with special tarry paint
able to withstand humidity.
