GENERAL PRAYER

Sunday Divine Worship (November 23, 2020)

Almighty God, here we are, your people, your church, together in your holy presence to
offer you our sacrifice of prayer and worship. We give thanks for the goodness and blessings
You have poured on us, especially for your unending love, mercy, and abundant grace in our
lives. We are also thankful that you are able to bless us with hope through even the toughest of
times such as this pandemic and the past calamity, strengthening us for your purposes.
Gracious God, we lift up to you our Church today, a place where you called us to
worship and glorify your name on high. We thank you for allowing each and every one of us to
be part of this congregation. Oh Lord, give us a strong sense of your spirit in our church and
may you fill our hearts with all that you are and direct us through your teachings in ways that
we are always living in your will. We are also grateful to our Local and National church leaders
and messengers you have provided to lead the ministries of our church. We pray that the
messages they utter be ones that honor you and spread your Word.
Mighty God, we are grateful for the front liners who are caring, protecting, and serving
our communities, our families and us. Father, please provide everything they need and may you
give them courage and strength throughout the long hours they are working. For those who
lost their source of income and are uncertain due to this situation we are in, may you open new
opportunities for them and furnish the resources they need to live with dignity. For the
students studying right now despite the difficulty, may you send your Holy Spirit upon them and
fill them with your wisdom and blessings. Grant that they may devote themselves to their
studies and draw ever closer to you, the source of all knowledge.
God of All Comfort, You are the Healer of body and soul. We implore you to visit the
sick, the suffering, the homebound, the grieving and all who stand in need especially for
___________. Whatever their trials, have mercy on them, and give them such confidence in the
power of your grace, that even when they are afraid, they may put their whole trust in you.
Loving and compassionate God, You have shown your great compassion to us. Teach us
oh God to show such compassion and love to all fellow souls in need by extending our kindness
and sincerity. Lord God, we have fed on your Word, felt the encircling of your Spirit around this
worship and individual lives. As we depart from this sacred place, may we continue to seek and
know your presence and power in all that we are; Through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and
reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forevermore. Amen.
