Narrative Report

Prevention is always better than cure. Last June 21, 2018 the Balagtas National Agricultural High School
participated at the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. This event was launched to orient students on
what they should and should not do before, during, and after earthquake.

Around 8:00 in the morning, the Grade 7 students with their subject teachers were called for the
first batch of orientation, a CAT officer led the students in the duck-cover-and-hold. While at 8:30 AM
the Grade 8 students and also with their subject teacher joined the orientation which was headed by Mr.
Ryan Rivera, Mr. Randy Concepcion, Mr .Richard Bernabe and Mr. Reynaldo Cristobal. When the clock
struck 9, students were asked to go back to their respective classroom and when they heard the bell rang
they performed the duck-cover-and-hold and once the ringing had stopped they evacuated to their
designated area outside the school. And at the evaluation period, teachers had noticed that what students
did was a bit wrong. And on the second try, students were more cooperative and improved their
shortcomings.

At 2:00 in the afternoon, Grade 9 and Grade 10 students were asked to go to the covered court for
the orientation. With the same routine, a CAT officer showed the duck-cover-and-hold, while Mr. Ryan
Rivera told the students where they will go. After the orientation, students returned to their classroom.
When the bell rang, they performed what they had learned on the orientation. Teachers noticed that how
they went to their respective area was more organized but a bit slow, but everything they did was fine.

For the last batch of the orientation and earthquake drill, Senior High School students go to the
covered court accordingly. Same as the Junior High students they performed the duck-cover-and-hold
together. And around 2:30 in the afternoon they go back to their classroom and performed everything
what they learned on the orientation. Teachers evaluated that there were little flaws but was they did was
alright
