Qatar First Bank LLC (Public), formerly known as Qatar First Investment Bank, is the first independent Shari’ah
compliant investment bank authorized by the QFC Regulatory Authority (QFCRA).
Established in 2008 as Qatar First Investment Bank and started operations in 2009 with initial focus on principal
investments in equity and real estate. Building on its successful investments, the Bank expanded its offering to Private
banking and wealth management services.
In 2013 management took the decision to change the Bank’s name from QFIB to QFB to better reflect the strategic
evolution of its business model to become the first Shari’a compliant private bank in Qatar exclusively focusing on
catering to the banking needs of its elite private clients and their businesses, while offering access to unique investment
opportunities and capabilities.
In 2016 QFB listed on Qatar stock exchange in 2016 and recognised as the ‘Best Up-and-Coming Islamic Financial
Institution’ by Global Finance.
QFB currently provides a wide range of Shari’ah compliant products and services including alternative investments
focused on private equity and real estate, private banking and wealth management, corporate and institutional banking,
as well as treasury and investments. QFB has an authorized share capital of QAR 2.5bn and a paid up capital of QAR
0.7 bn.
