This is to certify that according to Ministry of Science, Research and Technology
of Iran, the grading system in the University of ZANJAN is as follows:

 The evaluation of students in each course is based on their attendance in


course sessions, activities in the classroom, assignments, and the results of the
mid-term and end-term examinations.
 Education in all universities of the country is based on a Credits-system. Each
educational programme consists of many courses which are usually provided
during 3.5-4.5 years for bachelor degrees, 2-2.5 years for master degrees and
3.5-5.0 years for Ph.D. degrees. Each educational year comprises two
semesters. In a Credits-system, the value of each course is measured with the
number of credits (units) in that course.
 Students in each course are evaluated by marks between 0 (minimum) and 20
(maximum).
 The minimum pass mark for bachelor, master and Ph.D. courses is 10, 12 and
14 out of 20. A student who fails in any courses is required to repeat it at the
earliest opportunity. The mark conversion table to a ranking system is
categorized as below:

 The GPA of each semester is calculated by the sum of each course's mark
multiply by the credit of that course divided by the sum of the credits of that
semester.

 The GPA in any semester should not be less than 12 out of 20 for bachelor
degrees, 14 out of 20 for master degrees, and 16 out of 20 for Ph.D. degrees;
otherwise, the student registration will be conditional in the next semester.
 The CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is the cumulative aggregation
of the students’ marks of all semesters they have studied.
