Procedure to recover from error ‘E’ or error ‘17’ on Duplomatic TMC units.
The error ‘E’ or error ‘17’ happen when the TMC detects by itself a data corruption in the parameters memory, due to a very
unstable 24V supply (normally inducted spikes from some power line close to the 24V wires)

Normally it is enough to reload and save the parameters using the DTI software.

With the actual firmware of the TMC unit, in case of alarm “E”, not all parameters are initialized correctly, and the software can
crash while reading data.

To avoid this, follow these steps.

Referring to the manual of DTI software, before to activate the communication with the ”Link” button, press “MENU” button to
open the menu bar.

Press this before

activate link.

Then press, “Link” and immediately “Tools”

1) Press Link.

2) Press Tools.

The “Parameter” window will open and parameters are read from the TMC: the blue progress bar indicates the status. When the
transfer ends, the button “save in E2Prom2” will be enabled and it needs to press it immediately.

1) Press “Save to E2Prom” as soon

as it becomes enabled.

2) If the save command worked,

this will change to green.
Progress Bar.

Normally this will solve the problem.

If the turret shows a strange behaviour it is necessary to load a fresh set of parameters and perform the autotuning functions.

If the DTI software crashes before the completion of the operations, it needs to perform a complete reset hence it needs to send
the unit to the nearest Duplomatic Service Center.

In case of repeated failures, we suggest to stabilize the 24V supply close to the TMC, by adding by example this simple circuit.
