    Course Title: Nursing Research 1

    Course Code: NCM 111

    COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course deals with concepts, principles in the application
    of the major phrases of the nursing research process. It introduces the beginning role of
    the nurse as a nurse researcher. The learners are expected to develop a technically and
    ethically sound research proposal.

    LEVEL OUTCOMES: At the end of the third year, given individuals, families, population
    groups and communities with physiologic and health problems and maladaptive
    patterns of behavior in varied healthcare settings, the learners demonstrate safe,
    appropriate and holistic care utilizing the nursing process and applying research and
    evidence-based practice.

    GOALS: At the end of the course the nursing students will enhance the knowledge,
    skills and attitude in research thus nursing prepares investigators to create new
    scientific knowledge to guide nursing practice, assess the health care environment,
    improve patient, family, and community outcomes, and influence health policy.

    COURSE OUTCOMES:
    1. Apply knowledge of physical, social, natural and health sciences and humanities in
    the care in nursing research.
    2. Apply guidelines and principles of evidence-based practice in the nursing research.
    3. Conduct nursing research in accordance with existing laws, legal, ethical and moral
    principles.
    4. Communicate effectively in speaking, writing and presenting using culturally
    appropriate language and gender sensitive language in nursing research.
    5. Document and present nursing research proposal accurately and comprehensively.
    6. Collaborate effectively with inter-, intra- and multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural
    teams in nursing research.
    7. Practice beginning management and leadership skills in the conduct of nursing
    research.
    8. Conduct nursing research with an experienced researcher.
    9. Engage in lifelong learning with a passion to keep current with national and global
    developments in general, and nursing research in particular.
    10. Demonstrate responsible citizenship and pride of being a Filipino nurse researcher.
    11. Apply techno-intelligent care systems and processes in nursing researcher.
    12. Adopt the nursing core values in the conduct of nursing research.

    COURSE GUIDE:
    To successfully complete this course, you are required to work through all the
    lessons/modules /laboratory activities from prelim, midterm and finals. Long Exam will
    be given separately during the specified school calendar schedule.
