    YOUTH AFLAME (WEEK 1)

    MEETING FORMAT/PROCEDURES
    DATE: SUNDAY APRIL 11, 2021
    SUB-TOPIC: AFFECTIONS, INTIMACY AND PRIORITIES
    MAIN TOPIC: RECONNECTING WITH GOD AFTER THE PANDEMIC

    MAIN BIBLE TEXT: “...That you shall love the Lord you God with all your passion
    and prayer and muscle-and you love your neighbour as you do yourself” Lk 10: 27
    MSG

    WORDS TO COMMIT TO MEMORY: O God, You are my God; with deepest


    longing I will seek You; My soul [my life, my very self] thirsts for You, my
    flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no
    water. Psalm 63:1AMP.

    One of our greatest challenges is to properly prioritize who takes the number one
    spot in our hearts. The proper question would be. “Who is my first love?” Is it my
    Dad? Or my Mum? Or my best friend?

    Our Bible text above helps to easily identify who takes that number one spot. Every
    aspect of our lives comes to proper balance if we learn to make God our first love.

    The world has been going through one of its greatest challenges in modern history.
    The coronavirus Pandemic has thrown most of our priorities off balance. With little
    or no time for fellowship during this period, it is necessary to explore practical ways
    to start reconnecting with God.

    As we officially reopen the youth Church after one year of no activity, it will be a
    great time for our panelists to discuss the meaning and importance of affection,
    intimacy and priorities. Suggesting practical ways to express it towards God.
    There are four panelists and there will be four questions asked each panelist. Each
    person will be given three minutes to respond to each question. At the end, they
    would have been given 12 minutes in total.
    The following are the procedure for the panel discussion:
    1. There will be a supervising Minister, who in turn will moderate the panel
    discussion.
    2. At the end of the discussions, the supervising Minister will say the “words to
    commit to memory”, and the youths will respond.
    3. There also will be a WORD WORX session. A youth shall be nominated to
    declare the following words while the congregation responds:

    WORD WORX
    i. The love of God overwhelms me
    ii. My heart is forever drawn to Him and His ways
    iii. My affections are set on God, today, always and forever. Amen.

    4. Finally, the youths will be informed by Uncle Chibuzor to endeavour to


    memorize the “Word Worx” and “Words to commit to memory”. As they will
    be called upon next Sunday to say them.

    CHRISTIAN YOUTH?

    5. WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE SHOULD WE LISTEN TO?


    6. WHAT ARE THE DISTRACTIONS THAT LEADS US AWAY FROM GOD?
    7. WHAT ARE HABITS?
    8. WHAT SHOULD BE THE DAILY HABITS OF A GOD SEEKER?

    SECTION 3 (15 MINS)

    9. EXPLAIN FOR US WHAT A TREASURE IS AND HOW WE CAN RELATE TO GOD


    AS OUR TREASURE?
    10.WHAT ARE THE THINGS A YOUTH SHOULD RENOUNCE IN ORDER TO GROW
    INTIMATELY WITH GOD?
    11.WHAT IS COMPLACENCY AND HOW DOES IT HINDER OUR WALK AND
    INTIMACY WITH GOD?
    12.WHAT IS TALENT AND HOW SHOULD YOU USE TO SHOW YOUR AFFECTION
    TO GOD?

    NB: Supervising Ministers and Panelists are advised to do due diligence to the
    above questions through study and research online and offline. They can also
    support their assertions with Biblical references.
