Palm Sunday of The Lord’s Passion
The story of Christ’s passion recalls the betrayal and indifference of others that led to his crucifixion. In
our homes, family members sometimes feel betrayed or ignored by those who should love them best.
Through Christ’s passion and death we have been given new life. We too, can give new life to our family
relationships whenever we act with compassion and forgiveness.

379 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. Day and night Jesus dwells in
the Blessed Sacrament because of His infinite love for you! "Behold I will be with you always, even to
the end of the world, because I have loved you with an everlasting love, and constant is my affection for
you." Mt 28:20 Jer. 31:3. I would love to explain the Holy Hour program to you, please call Judy
at 330-212-0926.

Thank you to the wonderful hands that helped the Martha’s clean our beautiful Church in preparation of
Holy Week. Saint Augustine Parish is so fortunate to have such devoted volunteers. Thanks again.

Beginning November 26, 2011

The Catholic Church in all English speaking countries will welcome the New Roman Missal at the end
of this year. This New Roman Missal was promulgated by Pope John Paul II in the year 2000. Over the
last several years much good work has been done with the International Commission on English in the
Liturgy (ICEL) and the Conferences of Catholic Bishops honoring the previous Holy Father's desire that a
new edition of the Latin text be translated. Now finished and getting ready for print we want to be
ready in our church to welcome the New Roman Missal. On the weekend of the First Sunday of Advent,
Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the 4:00pm Mass the words we use at Mass will be new. So, begin
now, spreading the word to family and friends. Much of the people's new words at Mass will reflect the
language of scripture, using biblical images. For example: PRESENT TEXT: Glory to God in the highest
and peace to his people one earth”. NEW TEXT: Glory to God in the highest and peace to people of
good will”. These new words reflect more closely the scripture reference of the angels’ words at the
birth of Christ. Watch the bulletin for more information.

EASTER VIGIL RECEPTION: Once again parishioners will have the opportunity to welcome
the new neophytes (those who received baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist) by
celebrating with them during a Reception held in the school cafeteria following the Easter
Vigil. A generous parishioner has donated one of her delicious and beautiful cakes for the
party. Guests always enjoy the array of other parishioner-donated goodies. Can you contribute
something? Items needed are: vegetables for a veggie tray; fruit for a fruit salad; cheese and crackers;
other light snack items. If you would like to welcome the new members of our Faith in this way, please
call Kim Petroff at 330-848-9138. Thank you!

the Lord’s Supper. Pews will be reserved for you (and your spouse) in front, on St. Joseph’s side of
the Church. It has been gratifying to see so many participate in the procession each year. We
certainly hope you will be in attendance again on Holy Thursday for the very special and
meaningful liturgy.
