Dear Family, This Monday evening all priests and religious orders of the Diocese will gather with Bishop Conlon for the Chrism Mass at The Cathedral of St. Raymond. During Mass each parish will receive the holy oils that are used for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Healing of the Sick throughout the coming year. Today we begin the journey of Holy Week. We will celebrate Holy Thursday with the Last Supper Mass at 7pm. During this Mass, I will wash the feet of several parishioners in memory of what Jesus did to the Apostles reminding all of us to serve and not to be served. On Good Friday, we will have Stations of the Cross at 12:30pm and an evening service to Celebrate the Lords Passion at 7pm. We will read the Passion, have Communion and all are invited to reverence the Cross. Finally on Holy Saturday, we will begin at noon with a prayer service and the blessings of Easter foods and baskets cumulating with the Easter Vigil Mass at 7:30pm in the church. During this Mass we welcome candidates to the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion. Please keep in your prayers our RCIA Candidates: John Enarson, Jim Ellis Jr., Leon Griffin, Maria Griffin, Leon Griffin Jr., and Zoe Griffin. I invite all parishioners to participate in the special events this Holy Week. If you are out of town this Easter, I and our entire staff wish you an early Happy Easter! God bless you. The book of Revelation of St. John, read in the Churchs liturgy, first reveals to us, A throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne: the Lord God. It then shows the Lamb, standing, as though it had been slain: Christ crucified and risen, the one high priest of the true sanctuary, the same one who offers and is offered, who gives and is given. Finally it presents the river of the water of life... flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb, one of most beautiful symbols of the Holy Spirit.

Being a Christian means more than proclaiming the name of Jesus, it also means accepting our crossesakin to carrying the Cross of Jesus. Today we begin the journey to recall His suffering and rejoice in his victory over sin and death. Each time we retell and relive His Passion we learn more about God's love for humankind.
