1.Coco Peat Block
Coir Pith Blocks are used in Agriculture, Horticulture, floriculture nurseries and for Landscaping
as a soil conditioner and substitute for soil. This product has water retaining capacity and as such
daily watering is not necessary. Offered range is specially designed for commercial Nurseries and
greenhouses.

Cocopeat is a natural fibre made out of coconut husks. The extraction of the coconut fibre from
husks gives us this by-product called cocopeat. Cocopeat is a 100% natural growing medium.
This cocopeat dried in the natural sun, are processed to produce different items namely cocopeat
block, cocopeat briquettes, cocopeat disc and so on.. This makes an excellent growing medium
for hydrophonics, or container plant growing. Clean coir has natural rooting hormones and anti-
fungal properties.
Coir waste from coir fiber industries is washed, heat-treated, screened and graded before being
processed into coco peat products of various granularity and denseness, which are then used for
horticultural and agricultural applications and as industrial absorbent. Usually shipped in the
form of compressed bales, briquettes, slabs or discs, the end user usually expands and aerates the
compressed coco peat by the addition of water. A single kilogram of coco peat will expand to 15
litres of moist coco peat. Trichoderma is a naturally occurring fungus in coco peat; it works in
symbiosis with plant roots to protect them from pathogenic fungi such as pythium. It is not
present in sterilized coco peat. Trichoderma is also destroyed by hydrogen peroxide.
Benefits of cocopeat:
The properties of Coco Peat make it resistant to bacterial and fungal growth.
Coco Peat holds water rather than shedding it like traditional peat does! It holds 8-9 times its
weight in water.
Coco Peat has the ability to store and release nutrient to plants for extended periods of time. It
also has great oxygenation properties which is important for healthy root development.
It has a pH of 5.2-6.8 which is neutral to slightly acidic. This makes it great for alkaline garden
soils.
Easy to use! Just put your compressed Coco Peat brick in a container, add 4 quarts of warm
water and let it sit until the water is absorbed, fluff it up and you are ready to use Coco Peat!
Coco Peat can even be reused for up to 4 years!
It makes a great bedding material for worm bins! It’s actually good for them and increases worm
growth by 25%.
Coco Peat is very slow to disintegrate; it only begins to break down when it is 10 years old, long
term benefits.
It is very light and easy to handle.
It can be combined with any of the normal ingredients and use as a mixer or a stand-alone
product.
An affordable price for a quality product with an environmentally sustainable future.

How to use a Cocopeat Block Brick?

Cocopeat is shipped in compressed form to reduce transport and handling costs. Converting
cocopeat blocks to coir dust is easy. All you need to do is add water to the block and the block
will puff up into moist fluffy cocopeat. Just add sufficient water to the block to make sufficient
quantity of moist cocopeat. You can put away the unexpanded block for later use.
If you need to expand the whole block, immerse the block in a large tub capable of holding at
least 25 liters of water. Remove the wet expanded cocopeat that floats in the water, while
continuing to add water to the tub till the complete block is expanded.
2.Coir Pith

A spongy material that binds the coconut fibre in the husk, coir pith is finding new applications.
It is an excellent soil conditioner and is being extensively used as a soil-less medium for agri-
horticultural purposes.
Coir pith, also known as coco pith, has strong water retention properties, while allowing air to
pass through. Because of its unique organic compounds, coco pith can support strong root
growth, contributing to a longer lifespan for plants. For these and many other reasons, coco pith
has grown in popularity with home gardeners, as well as in the horticulture and agricultural
industries.

Pith is a soft and spongy plant material. Usually found in the roots and stem of a plant, it is often
a white substance that turns brown as it matures. The main purpose of pith is to transport
nutrients, using its large but thin-walled parenchyma cells. These cells are easily filled with
water and nutrients.
In some plants, the middle of the stem is the pith. This may dry out as the plant matures, leaving
a hollow center. With trees, pith eventually converts into the xylem. Pith allows vascular plants
to transport water up and down the stem to its roots and leaves. You can see the pith in citrus
fruit as the white spongy material. In coconuts, pith is the small organic material obtained from
separating the fibers of the coconut husk.
Gardening Benefits of Coir Pith
Coir pith is naturally waterproof, is one of the few natural fibers resistant to saltwater damage,
has a neutral pH balance, and is widely available and environmentally friendly. These qualities
make it an ideal substance for agriculture and horticulture. Coir pith has the ability to retain large
amounts of water. It is used as a replacement for traditional peat moss to supplement gardening
soil. It is also used as a soil-less medium for some plant cultivation.

By itself, coco pith does not contain a high amount of nutrients. For this reason, it is typically an
addition to gardening soil. Because it is free of bacteria and fungus and is generally believed to
be an insect and mold repellent, it makes a welcome gardening addition. Coco pith is mixed with
sand, compost, and fertilizer to make a high-quality potting soil. It can be used for growing
mushrooms, thanks to its high cellulose level.

One of coco pith’s most attractive qualities is that it can be reused up to three times, making it
more sustainable than peat moss and other alternatives. Considered environmentally friendly and
widely available, coir pith makes an excellent addition as a multi-purpose growing medium.

Uses of Coir Pith

 100% organic
 High water and nutrition holding capacity
 Enhance strong and healthy root system
 Good air porosity
 Perfect growing medium for plants
 Used in Tomato, cucumber, rose, gerbera, and strawberry plantation.
 Used in Horticulture and Floriculture Environment
3.HUSK CHIPS:
These are the cut pieces of coconut husk. They are good bedding ground in a terrarium and
widely used in horticultural applications.

Coconut Husk chips Can be supplied as 5kg blocks and 20Kg bales.
Husk chips have a huge water holding capacity. They can accumulate up to 9 times of water of
their weight. The use of Husk chips will save water and time, Promotes excellent root growth,
Promotes faster plant growth, Avoids stress after repotting, Lasts longer than bark based
medium, Cuts down fertilizer application by half, Consistent quality and less or no wastage and
is cheaper than bark. Husk chips are available in loose form and compressed form.

Our Coconut Husk Chips are a consistent media that will last longer than bark, in fact our
Coconut Husk Chips will last in your media for 3 to 5 years.

Coconut Husk Chips work great in all types of potting mixes or stand alone. They will hold
water and release it evenly as the mix dries out, similar to a sponge.
Advantages:
High water holding capacity, yet release water evenly
Promotes superior root growth
Wets & Rewets easily
Long Lasting - 3 to 5 years
Add our Coconut Husk Chips to your soil mix to give a coarse grade mix, or use it stand alone
for Orchids, Bromeliads, Anthuriums, and many other applications.

Grade Analysis of Coconut Husk Chips:

Air fill porosity (%) 36 - 57
Water holding capacity (%) 30 - 60
Electric conductivity < 0.7

INTRODUCTION:
I did my internship for 15 days. Throughout this period, I was cultured concerning the scheme of
the manufacturer and trader of "Coir block, Coir Pith, Coco peat, Husk chips.” The company
was commenced in the year 2013 at Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, we "RRG World Connect"
are Sole proprietor-based entity. I also learnt about export and import. I attend a variety of coirs
subsequent to summer vacation which helped me a lot.
CONCLUSION:
I learnt a lot during my internship programme. The working environment was really
good and the person who guided also taught the work to me in a friendly manner. I had a good
experience; it was very useful to me and I learnt how to behave in a working environment. This
is a golden opportunity given to me and all students.
