To ensure that I can carry out/perform my task efficiently and effectively in participating and assisting my
cooperating teacher in establishing routines and procedures, in the classroom or in remote learning. I must be
guided by the following questions.

1. How will I gain students attention in the classroom/ remote learning?

2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and after my classes
whether on a face-to-face or remote learning?
3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal that student need help/attention in the
classroom/ remote learning?
4. How must students get/secure the needed work materials and books and often in the classroom/ remote
learning?
5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the classroom/ remote
learning?
6. What procedures must be followed by students who need to attend to personal necessities in the
classroom/online classes?
7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early and for those who cannot complete the work
on time?
8. What procedures must be observed for tardiness/ early dismissals?

Having these guide questions in mind, complete the matrix for the routines that your resource
teacher has employed before, during and after classes in the classroom/ remote learning to ensure order and
discipline in your classes. List down the problems which your resource teacher has encountered while
implementing these routines.

While the difficulties that the resource teacher has encountered in implementing
these routines are: Adaptability. Students find it difficult to adapt to an online learning environment
immediately after traditional classroom learning. Difficulties of students regarding adaptability will increase
problems in embracing routines implemented by the teacher., Technical issues. Many students are not well
equipped with a high internet connection that is required for online learning. Poor connectivity to internet
can also cause students to not accomplish things needed to do., Time Management. Time management is
the most important factor in online learning it needs time and effort for better learning. I observed that there
are students who enters late in our online class and it distracts the teacher. There’s complication in
attendance, and student became behind in the discussion., Self-motivation. Teacher finds lack of
motivation to students while giving them the task or routines that are being required and we all know that it
requires motivation to complete task and engage students with their learning. Distraction. Learning from
home is an amazing experience. But with online learning you can be easily distracted by small things at
home. By this, students cannot attentively participate to discussion and even recitation., Learning styles. In
such cases, students lack concentration, inability to understand live classes, difficulty in creating projects
and assignments using technology., Communication. Students lack effective communication skills during
online learning. During our online class my Resource teacher implements question and answer portion.
She’s asking but there’s only one or two who participates among numbers of students she handles. And I
keep on trying to recite just to engage and to keep the discussion flows smoothly.

The top problem encountered by teacher while implementing routines for online class is virtual
engagement commitment. If only students could actively join and comply things that are needed there
would be succession of those routines. One sided type of learning is challenging because students must be
the center of education. There would be no effect even how intelligent the teacher is if student wouldn’t
cooperate it’s useless. If students will participate responsibly or there’s a cooperation, there’s a discipline,
and self-motivation, then learning would become harmonious and quality education would be achieved.

1. What factors/ conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and procedures?
 The factors/conditions that prompted me to established those classroom routines and procedures
is that I don't want the students to attend classes unsure as to how they behave and act. Without
establishing classroom routines, you have to repeat instructions again and again and it will only
cause a lot of time wasted. That is why it is very important to establish classroom routines and
procedures so that students will have a guide to follow and they will be able to practice it. This
will also increase the chance of students experiencing success by giving them clear steps to
follow inside the class. By following those established routines and procedures, this will train
students to become responsible in everything they do and this will be their stepping stone to
become a well-mannered individual.

2. Was there a marked improvement in the classroom management after employing in your
classroom routines?
 Yes, there is a significant improvement in the classroom management after I employed
classroom routines such as the things mentioned in the first question. First, there is a significant
improvement in the class order, there is now a systematic organization of rules that binds the
peace as well as the disposition of the class. Lastly, there is a significant improvement in the
class relationship, may it be between the students or between me and the students, there is a
notable change on how the students interact with each other and how they interact with me as a
teacher with the help of the routines that I employed to improve the classroom management.

3. Did the teaching-learning process improve? Justify your answer.

 Yes, the teaching-learning process improved. Difficulties in teaching and learning process arise
when remote learning is implemented. But teachers and students are more flexible in engaging
to this digital era in education. As to implementing classroom routines and procedures or
improvement of classroom management, students are more obedient compared to teaching-
learning process in the past. Class rules may have a big impact to students’ participation by
stating or explaining those in your class. Also, to be able to see if the teaching process improved
is when your students attentively participate in your class discussions. Today, teachers in online
classroom facilitates being independent as they’re improving their quality in teaching and this
can be the best way to guide learners to become active learners. Teachers are using active
learning strategies and techniques to facilitate creative and critical thinking.

What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?

 I have notice that this episode focuses on the routines and procedure inside the classroom. Of course, it
is really hard to handle a lot of students especially in this new setting where we really don’t see their
presence that is why it is a necessity to implements rules in a lot of aspect. Teachers have to set
limitations especially when it comes to their attendance, their performance may it be oral or in written
form, their tardiness as well as their cooperation in the online class. Since this so called new normal
differs a lot in the traditional form, a lot of adjustment in both side needs to be done especially in the
part of the teachers. They need to be flexible so that they can enhance their teaching strategies. They
need first to be fluent in using different kinds of platforms so that casualties will be avoided when it is
their time to deliver a lesson. Also, it is a must to conduct a classroom routine in the online setting to
facilitate better the needs of students and to be able to have a smooth teaching-learning process.

Work on my Artifacts

Individual Output

Take some snapshots of your routines in the class or in remote learning and tell something about them. You
may also write down the procedures you have formulated and explain the reason for these.

1. Leave the keyboard alone

Whether you’re diligently taking notes or sneakily chatting with your bestie, the sound of your typing is
distracting. It’s not only distracting everyone else in the meeting (because your laptop’s internal microphone is
inches away from your keyboard), it’s also preventing you from devoting your full attention to the meeting. Opt
for a quality headset or pick up your notebook and pencil or pen to take notes.
 Please don't make keyboard noises which taking notes.
 Refrain from searching other mediums like watching a movie on YouTube while you are on a long Zoom
meeting or webinar.
 Keep your writing stationery ready in advance.

2. Dress appropriately
Dresses professionally take a few minutes to throw on your uniform. The best part of actually getting into your
uniform while online schooling remotely is that you’ll put yourself in the right head space to be productive.
 Wear your uniform
 Look presentable
 Make sure your hair is well groomed

3 Be aware of your surroundings

Your co friends won’t be able to hear your ideas or take you seriously when there is a pile of dirty clothes in the
corner behind you. You also want to avoid looking like you work from the inside of a cave because of bad
lighting. Adjust your work setup so that you face a window or are exposed to plenty of light. And make sure
your background is professional and work appropriate! This means:
 No beds (unmade or made) in the background
 No messy rooms or open closets where everyone can see your clutter
 Please make sure the background is clear
 No younger kids crying or screaming in the background
 No pets barking or chirping on the background
 Please kindly create a professional background for your webinars

4. Mute your microphone when you’re not talking

There’s nothing more frustrating than hearing that alien echo noise from conflicting microphones. Save
everyone from the ear-splitting madness by joining the meeting while on mute!
Unless you live alone, your house is probably pretty noisy these days. Muting your microphone when you’re
not speaking gives other participants the ability to chime in and share their thoughts without distraction or
frustration.
 Keep your microphone always muted
 Please inform your colleagues if you have a audio problem

5. Speak up
When you enter your new online classroom (around two to five people) announce yourself when you join. It
can be awkward to hear the “someone-just-joined” ding followed by silence.
Don’t be afraid to project your voice, too! Your friends and teachers will appreciate being able to hear you
without having to strain their ears or turn their volume all the way up.
 Keep your introduction simple and to the point
 Introduce yourself

6. No food during Online School

Try not to eat a snack during your online school. No one wants to see you stuff your mouth with chips while
discussing assignments. Not only is it distracting to others, you won’t be able to focus on the task at hand
because you’ll be worrying about dropping crumbs all over your keyboard.
 Please don't eat while you are on a school ZOOM meeting
 Please refrain from chewing anything while in engaging in webinars or ZOOM meeting
 Please go ahead and eat when you have snack sharing day in school. Remember to keep your mouth closed
while chewing.
