FIELD STUDY 2: LEARNING EPISODE 8 Establishing My Own Classroom Routines

and Procedures in a Face-to-Face / Remote Learning

Participate and Assist

To ensure that I can carry out/perform my tasks efficiently and effectively in

participating and assisting my cooperating teacher in establishing routines and procedures, in
the classroom or in remote learning, I must be guided by the following questions:

1. How will I gain student attention in the classroom /remote learning?

2. What are the routines and procedures that I need to establish before, during and after
my classes whether on a face-to-face or remote learning?
3. What verbal and non-verbal communication will I use to signal that students need
help/attention in the classroom / remote learning?
4. How must students get/secure the needed work materials and books and others in the
classroom / remote learning?
5. How will students transition to group work and other cooperative activities in the
classroom / remote learning?
6. What procedures must be followed by students who need to attend to personal
necessities in the classroom/online classes?
7. What rules must be set for students who finish task early/ and for those who cannot
complete work on time?
8. What procedures must be observed for tardiness / early dismissals?
9. What procedures must be done when submitting homework / performance tasks in the
classroom / remote learning?
10. What procedures must be employed in movements into and out of the
classroom/remote learning?

Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the possible
assistance or participation that you can do to help her/him in doing the classroom routines.
Complete the matrix for the routines that you can employ before, during and after classes in
the classroom/remote learning to ensure order and discipline in your classes. List down the
problems which you have encountered while implementing these routines.
Actually, there are the problems that we facing during face to face, these are number
1. Struggling with seeing relevance, the first struggle for students is related to motivation.
Students need to see value in what they are being asked to do. Second is struggling with lack
of enjoyment, next, our students, particularly those who enjoy face-to-face interactive
classroom activities, may not enjoy the face-to-face classes. This particularly challenging,
especially since we may not enjoy face-to-face classes. Next is struggling with a poor
relationship with peers

Analyze

1. What factors/ conditions prompted you to establish those classroom routines and
procedures?
Actually, routines and procedures in the classroom are important because they
let students feel comfortable with the day's happenings. Therefore, they consider their
age, level of maturity, and the class objectives before developing a plan. List of
routines and procedures. begin with the basics from the list as needed based on the
requirements of the students.
2. Was there a marked improvement in classroom management after employing your
classroom routines?
You need to get to know your students. Actually, a successful classroom is
based on strong personal relationship with the students. Consider your own
experiences as a student. Were you more motivated to follow the rules when you feel
like your teachers knows your personally.
3. Did the teaching-learning process improve? Justify your answer.
All said that, we do know that teaching and learning can be improved but if
quality and effectiveness are to be raised.

Reflect

What insights have you gained while doing this learning episode?

Doing this episode, I have remembered my all teachers from elementary, high school
and in college. Where, I realized now that all routines and procedures they employ to us is
very important in order to maintain the good flow of the class and good behavior. So, as a
future teacher while thinking this routines and procedures that I employ in my class. I learned
that I need to think deeper, know what expectation should I have to my students for that I can
develop appropriate routines and procedure to the class. Also, delivering this routines and
procedures to class I need to ensure that they know and clear to them so I can teach them how
to do it. In this way, day by day they can practice them in their own but I need to observe
them strictly, where at the end of the day I can correct those who didn't do it proper. In
addition I realized that having a brainstorming in my students they can contribute to have
effective routines and procedure on their behavior because they feel there ideas are matter in
the class.

Work on my Artifacts

Take some snapshots of your routines down in the the classroom procedures or in
remote learning and tell something about them. You may also write down the procedures you
have formulated and explain the reasons for these.
PROCEDURE

Entering the meeting: arrive 5 minutes before the class begins; enter the meeting room
quietly; always greet teachers and classmate.

Submitting assignment/activities: submit on time if not inform your teacher; don't forget to
write your complete name, section, rating, and date on the top of your paper right and left
side; and send it on the respective room in Google classroom.

Before the class: prepare your finish assignments; prepare your own prayer if your teachers
call your name you're prepared; listen to what teacher says in the meeting.

During discussion: Always open your camera, off your microphone; listen attentively;
Participate on the class like answering questions of the teacher.

Asking/Answering Question: send message to the comment box or click the hand sign; or
you can open your microphone.

Leaving the Meeting: ask for permission or inform your teacher to leave especially if there
is having emergency or technical problem.

Ending the class Meeting: wait for the signal of your teacher (it might have announcement);
open your camera for documentation; always say goodbye and thank you.

These are my procedure I have formulated for my class in a remote learning. Where
the reason for this is to maintain the good flow of every meeting we have and to ensure that
my learners know what they need to do in the class. Also, I want to learn my learners to be
responsible and a disciplined individual.
