Rationale:

ICT in education improves engagement and knowledge retention.


When ICT is integrated into lessons, learners become more engaged in their
work. This is because technology provides different opportunities to make it
fun and enjoyable in terms of teaching the same things in different ways.

To address this need, Sixto A. Abao National High School (SAANHS)


conducts a LAC Session which focus on Integrating ICT in Teaching and
Education.

In Integrating ICT in Teaching, it is aimed that SAANHS teachers will


be equipped with supplementary knowledge on how to use ICT in teaching
as teaching strategies and methods. As a challenge in the 21 st century,
teachers must be knowledgeable on how to use and apply ICT because it
helps them improve their teaching skills, and improving professional
development and educational management and ICT prepares teachers for
the use of their skills in the real classroom situation and also make students
for their future occupation and social life.

In Integrating ICT in Teaching aims to help students to become


competent and confident users who can use the basic knowledge and
skills acquired to assist them in their daily lives. It is also help to prepare
students for the world of tomorrow. It aims to help learners to have an
open and flexible mind. This will help them to adjust to the inevitable
future changes and assist students to grow personally by facilitating
different methods of learning.

SAANHS believed that these learning would not only be beneficial to


teachers but also to learners who will be the receiver of the teachers’ efforts.
The participants will be gathered to listen to the lecture of the speaker. They
will then be grouped for a collaborative activity in making their outputs.

Objectives:
The LAC Session aims to achieve the following:
1. Get a new perspective in ICT tools and learn new ways and best
practices to integrate ICT in teaching.
2. Learning to use ICT tools to make education more engaging,
motivating, and innovative.
