Project Proposal on
SCHOOL-BASED TRAINING ON LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEETS (LAS)
CONSTRUCTION IN SUPPORT TO MELCS NOT EMPHASIZED IN MODULES

December 14- 18, 2020

Sebaca National High School
Sebaca, Rizal Zamboanga del Norte

I.Project Title: LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEETS (LAS) CONSTRUCTION IN SUPPORT

TO MELCS NOT EMPHASIZED IN QUARTER 1 MODULES

II. Project Proponent: Mr. Edwin M. Badlon

Principal I
Sebaca National High School
Sebaca, Rizal Zamboanga del Norte

III. Project Rationale:

The continuing threat of COVID-19 to our country and the world brings about
unprecedented challenges to basic education (DO 31, series of 2020). Our adaptation to certain
alternative learning modalities proves necessary in order to attain curricular goals even in the
absence of face to face instruction. Part of this alternative learning scheme is the design of
Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) that are left to students in which, further explanation by teachers
is limited to online engagement. In designing learning activities, one must take into account how
learners make sense of new information, how they acquire new skills, or how they develop
into a new individual (Bransford, Brown, & Cocking, 2000).

The thematic approach of some subjects has led this proponent to make assessments on
the modules given. With the conduct of this training, the 17 teachers at Sebaca NHS shall
determine which competencies are not fully reinforced, and are expected to produce outputs that
are authentic, contextualized and localized as supplement to existing modules distributed from
the division office.

IV. Project Objectives:

At the end of the training, the teachers should be able to;

1. identify MELCS not emphasized in the learning experience provided in modules(Quarter 1);
2. evaluate samples of Learning Activity Sheets given;
3. draw the fundamental parts of Learning Activity Sheet design;
4. identify resources and technologies or multi-media supplements;
5. contextualize some of the standard content in the K to 12 MELCS, and apply authentic
learning;
6. share their best practices in relation to learner-centered and/or constructivism teaching
approaches;
7. construct an authentic, contextualized and localized Learning activity sheets.
