1. Set IP address for the client PC
2. Set the Domain name
3. Login on the created User Account

ACTIVITY:
Answer the following questions on a sheet of paper:

I. DISCUSSION:

A client is a piece of computer hardware or software that accesses a service made available by the
server. The server is often (but not always) on another computer system, in which case the client accesses
the service by way of a network. The term applies to the role that programs or devices play in the client–server
model.
1. Set IP Address for Client
• Usual Configuration setup for IP addressing”
o Set the IPV4 to obtain an IP Address
o Copy the IP address of the server and write it down on the DNS Server field of the client
o Click OK

A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or
control within the Internet. Domain names are formed by the rules and procedures of the Domain Name
System (DNS). Any name registered in the DNS is a domain name. Domain names are used in various
networking contexts and application-specific naming and addressing purposes. In general, a domain name
represents an Internet Protocol (IP) resource, such as a personal computer used to access the Internet, a
server computer hosting a web site, or the web site itself or any other service communicated via the Internet.
In 2015, 294 million domain names had been registered
2. Set the Domain Name
• Click on Start, select Computer, right click and select Properties
• Select Change Settings and click on Change.
• Click on Ok and select Yes to restart
• In the Domain name area, write the server domain name
(i.e. networking.local)

Windows Security will show, input the following;


Username: Administrator
Password: (created user password)

3. Entering the User Log


• Upon logging in, go to switch user, select other User
• Enter the username
• Enter user password
