NARRATIVE REPORT

The MAPEH Department conducted the School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) for
professional development and improvement of teaching-learning process. The SLAC aims to
equipped MAPEH teachers in performing their duties and responsibilities to be an effective and
efficient teacher.
The SLAC topic “Drug Integration” was designed in order to equipped teachers in
integrating drug education in some of their lessons. It will promote awareness to the students for
them not to try illegal drugs and prevent the ill effects of drugs. The issue of drug abuse has
already been with us for a very long time. Knowing the adverse effects of drug abuse in the
society’s culture and general well-being, many measures have been proposed and implemented
by experts in order to reduce and relieve, if not totally eradicate these effects. One such measure
is drug prevention education.
The session was started with a prayer and followed by a message and reminders from the
SLAC leader. Ma.Teresa C. Fabrid, the master teacher of MAPEH Department, gave inputs and
workshop to the participants on how to integrate the drug education in MAPEH lessons. After
discussion, the participants were asked to make a lesson plan in which they will integrate drug
education. After workshop, Glecerio M. Calis Jr. presented his lesson plan with the integration
of drug education through demo teaching.
The SLAC session was a fruitful one because 100 % of the MAPEH teachers were able to
integrate the drug education in their respective lesson plan. Certificates were given to the
participants for their active participation during the SLAC session.
