What is a holacracy?

Holacracy is an organization having no work titles, no administrators, and no top progressive

system with upper, center, or lower level where choices and thoughts get shared and talked
about. Its name comes the Greek word holos, a single, autonomous, self-sufficient unit that is
also dependent on a larger unit. The thought behind this new sort of plan is to focus on the work
that must be done and ideas must be implement and listen which are get lost in the hierarchy
system.

What benefits do you see to an organization where there are no job titles, no managers, and
no hierarchy?

In an organization if there are no job titles, no managers, and no hierarchy then the benefits they
get is in the form is that the organization receives more creative and unique ideas, as we know in
this people work according to their own schedule and will, they do things innovatively and
effectively as they are not forced by their boss to perform the tasks. Employees become self-
motivated as they get the chance to work independently based on their own decisions and they
feel like they are entrepreneur and skill full persons because they work on their own. It’s a
human phycology when employees are happy than they work more and thus the productivity of
the organization increases as a whole. Moreover, employees work in the company like the
company is their own and when such feeling comes then employees work for the good of the
company and try every means to achieve higher profit. In this type or organization any one can
come up with an idea and implement it after discussing it with people.

What challenges does a holacratic approach have?

A holacratic approach could face many challenges include who has the ultimate authority to hire
and fire and decision to pay, how to overcome conflict if it occurs in the organization will be
difficult as there are no mangers to control them and all work independently. Also, as a result of
this approach leaders may emerge in it and they may be trying to dominate other people working
there. Poor performers would not get any role and thus the management may decide they are not
a good fit for the organization. But in this type of organization somehow hierarchy do exist. Like
CEO. In this type of organization CEO has to left his place.

Discuss why you would or would not like to work in an organization like this

I would not like to work in this type of organization because in this type of organization there is
no one to guide us no manger to lead us and told us are we doing good or not. We all join an
organization to learn something new and gain experience but an organization in which each and
every single employee is a manager in that case I would not be able to get any experience. In any
field of work mentorship is must which is done in any organization by the manager.
