Activity Guide and Evaluation Rubric – Task 7 Talking about activities and plans.
1. Activity Description

Type of activity: Collaborative


Evaluation moment: Intermediate Unit 3

With this activity, you are expected to achieve the following learning
outcomes:

Learning outcome 1: Apply basic and concrete vocabulary, that is a series of


phrases and sentences related to personal information, daily activities, and stories of
life events in written communication tasks.

Learning outcome 2: Use the highest frequency vocabulary, common expressions,


and phrases, to handle very short social exchanges in synchronous encounters or oral
presentations.

The activity consists of:

1-Individual part

Answer the following questions in the forum


-What are your plans for the Weekend? (Two or three sentences)
-What is your Job / study routine?
-What sports do you practice? (Describe the sport)
-Which country would you like to travel to? Why?
(e.g., “I would like to travel to… because It's cheap and the people are nice…”)

Create a PowerPoint presentation where you write the answers to the questions.
Record your voice while reading the presentation and create a video. Turn on your
camera to appear in the video.

2-Collaborative part
Read your partners texts in the forum and ask 1 (one) question to each one of them
related to one of these topics. Use Wh questions (Who, when, why, what, where,
how)

- Weekend plans
- Job routines
- study routine
- Traveling

Answer the questions that your partners asked you in the forum.

The group must compile all the video links of each presentation and add the
questions and answers from the collaborative part into a word document. Turn it into
a pdf format. The student with the deliveries role must sent the document by the
evaluation environment.

Part 3: Speaking Encounters*

Continue participating in 2 English Speaking Sessions per week via skype or hangouts
(Use of video camera and microphone is mandatory).

your participation.

2. General Guidelines for the Development of Evidences to Submit

For Collaborative evidences, consider the following:

• All members of the group must participate with their contributions in the
development of the activity.

• In each group a single member will be chosen to submit the requested product in
the environment indicated by the teacher.

• Before submitting the requested product, students should check that it meets all
the requirements mentioned in this activity guide.

• Only the members of the group that participated with contributions during the
time assigned for the activity should be included as authors of the submitted
product.

Please keep in mind that all individual or collaborative written products must comply
with the spelling rules and presentation conditions defined in this activity guide.
Regarding the use of references, consider that the product of this activity must
comply with APA style.
In any case, make sure you comply with the rules and avoid academic plagiarism.
You can review your written products using the Turnitin tool found in the virtual
campus.

Under the Academic Code of Conduct, the actions that infringe the academic order,

3. General Guidelines for the Collaborative Work

Every student will take up one of these roles for the


development of the course assignments and can only be
changed if decided by the group members.
Compiler: Puts together the final product and includes
the work done only by those who participated on time.
Informs the student in charge of alerts about people who
did not participate and will not be included in the final
product.
Reviser/Editor: Makes sure the written work follows all
Roles and Duties for the criteria established in the activity guide.
the Submission of Evaluator: Evaluates the final document to ensure it

the student in charge of alerts about any changes that
need to be made before delivering the product.
Deliveries: Student in charge of informing about the
