Coffee Tumbler With Built-In Power Bank
A power bank is being generated by electricity by the process of “thermo-electric generation” using the waste heat
coming from the vacuum type tumbler with the help of peltier effect. A peltier battery is a device used commonly in
heating and cooling but it can also generate electricity by applying different temperature (hot or cold/warm) at its
upper and lower phases. It is accompanied by an aluminum conductor helping the peltier to absorb more heat. After
absorption is the direct generation of electricity; it is then transferred to a special kind of storage called “Joule
Thief Battery” It can increase the voltage of a power that helps the power bank to be more efficient. Using the waste
heat coming from the tumbler, the project aims to save the battery life of the gadgets in times of unexpected
shutdowns. After finalizing the most ideal design and fabrication testing was conducted by using multi-meter and it
is found that in a 95 degree Celsius heat of a 350 ml coffee can generate 0.6 watts of power in 10 minutes at
constant heating and it is about 13-15 percent of the battery life on an android phone. But the power generated is
inconsistent; it will depend on how fast the coffee was consumed and on how many times you open it before
drinking. It is recommended that the usage of household thermos as the source of heat could produce more
electrical energy. The batteries that are use should also be enlarged so that it could store more electricity.
